Morning Rain

Raining in the early dawn
The drops overspread the earth
Dampening grounds on which I walk
Cooling the atmosphere
Enjoyable morning

Raining

Raining.
Soothing. Cleansing.
Dampening earthen soil.
Calming busy minds with rhythm.
Raining.

Dark foreboding billows, dampening the euphoria of a day's treasure. The earth frowns at our childlike dimness... 02/19/2018 Sunshine and Showers Contest Sponsored by Robert Haigh

Another Storm

Another blizzard continually dampening even finally gaining hindsight into just kind light mountains over Neanderthal peaks quietly riding stormfronts towards under valleys withering x-factor zealous

Premium Member Sense Of Taste

An explosion of flavour
Setting the taste buds alight
A tsunami of saliva
Dampening heat in the cave.
Like the sand beds of the sea,
Deeper elements spring forth
Revealing ingredients
Enriching the savoury dish.

Freezing Rain

-
My tears fall like
freezing rain
dripping from barren
branches overhead,
dampening my smile,
replacing the sunrise
with clouded sorrow
as your heart breaks
like thin ice
in the winter
of your sadness-

involuntary volition
yet signals bondage
so we remind ourselves
of our piquant dilemma
moment to moment
thereby dampening
attention oscillation
until boundaries blur
head and heart concur
and identity disappears

all then that remains
Is awareness self-aware

First Kiss

Come here was the motion
That rendered her helpless
And placed her under a majestic
spell

Quiet eyes, half parted lips
Dampening like rose petals
Waiting to collect It's first
drops of morning dew

And a heart that flutters
Like hummingbird wings
As it delectably feasts
Upon its precious nectar

words of strings

damper sound without a box

fuse less high key string fret and the low beckoning

saint the same slide you grew out from

drink news and through lava liqour drips off

damper stage and dampening cat cry

you got news and sew my drums lose

i know its been done

speak frothing failure against

If I Were the Rain

`
a steady
downpour
falls in
cold droplets
encouraged
by a gusty
breeze
and I feel
bad
for you

as
the rain
drips through
a half
opened
window
dampening
your already
shivering skin

but I also
wish
I were that rain
for if I
were,
it would be
me
touching you
right now

Premium Member November

November you entered with gale strong winds
Blowing snow and spitting cold rain
You hid the sun behind dark gray clouds
Dampening my spirits as the day crawled on
Dreary and mundane like evening dusk
You sprinkled gloom before afternoon
Snow slowly drifted and touched earth
Giving the month of November new birth

Premium Member Contentment

Sunday morning under my quilted down comforter
Coffee smells loosening tension like a good massage.
My alarm clock snores on, this being its one day off
And I gaze at the dresser replete with family photos.
Contentment fills me, dampening every exposed, jagged nerve
And begins to overflow as my cat purrs her approval.

Journey of Bliss

her eyes were
speaking
love
glint peace tranquility
we are about to take
off to eternity
running away
eternal wisdom of love
brimmed with tears
anguish of pain
giving way to assurance
of freedom
dampening power of
my withering cells
charging rejuvenating
at the probability
of the journey
life is a journey
of bliss

Raindrops

Small as a droplet
from a tearful eye,
while swaying with the wind
of an ominous sky.

Vastly dampening
crops in need,
being their crucial
way to feed.

Falling in a mist,
or pouring to the ground.
Sometimes soaring
without making a sound.

A part of nature
nurturing its own,
replenishing the land
so life can move on.

Premium Member A Dampening of Rage

rage
blood red
simmering
boiling over
insecure imbeciles off gassing pain

a fraternity of inbred hound dogs
renting shepherds
flocks are lost
horror
death

soul
lingers
ghostly lights
clarion calls
the atomic spin of celestial night

loss of foul ego conjoined particles
wonder free falls
I less bliss
haunting

Inhale

Inhale

my heartbeat slows,
blood sluggish
through stenotic vessels
unwilling to expand,
to breathe
to let blood flow

untenable, this suffocation
this dampening
it speaks of tired eyes,
of stolid limbs,
of stultified need

torpid blood,
when will you give up
your self-imposed stricture,
your closely guarded fear,
your wariness

and inhale

Without Karma

I want to feel as clean as the wind
I want to hear it pass my ears
feeling as calm as the silence
I am the wind that passes
at least I want to be
but I fear I'm collecting filth
dirt from this lowly earth
and it hurts
dampening my light
making tense my innocence
I want to move through the periods of time
without consequence
as light as air
so light you wouldn't have
even known I was there

Attached Souls

Sincerely, it’s sad;
Heart-arching
Soul-dampening
Hearing “Farewell” bid
By the beloved,
Truly it’s bad;
Tearing apart
This touching attachment
Of utmost feeling: love!
It’s damned fearful;
Listening to the distressed,
Agonized, pained and solemn
Expressions of a heart
Beset by beating confessions.
It’s indeed madness;
Tearing apart attached souls,
Sailing across life’s coasts
In love’s vessel!

Premium Member Sickened

The gypsy moth’s nest clung like cotton candy, spun sugar; wet and weighty to the pendulous boughs, of white birch and maple a deadly adornment shrouding the forest in an air of decay. A miasma of atmosphere Muffled the morn; dampening the resolve mystifying the mundane multiplying the cloying scent of fallen leafs; solidifying the webs of moth and man unifying the monochrome scene.

Premium Member Overture

As you wait
for a turn of fate
to get things
rolling again

You pass the time
listening to music
while pondering
transformations solidified

into transparent discrepancies
relinquished by distinguished
personifications that are truly amazing.
You drift through

happy circumferences
as you smile,
gaze into the distance
of truthful overtones

that are resurrected
with the ease
of a twist of justifications
dampening your quest.

Premium Member Counting Down

playfully up close and personal
tingling joyfully on my skin today
warm and toasty the frisky sun
behind me wintry months of frost

no matter what claims my calendar
unofficially it’s the first day of spring
with gleeful sounds of melting snow
melodious and enchanting to my ears

how disappointing to see the sun
toward cooled horizons slowing sink
dampening any delusion of hope
for a premature springtime kickoff
