We used to be friends
Laughter was our currency
Now tears fill the bank
When did we close our account
How could we be overdrawn

Intelligence

Let intelligence be your currency, your wealth and your ambition,
Elect reasoning to be your yardstick, your goal and your religion.

Promises and good wishes
  all fantasy pays

The currency of commitment
 —is money and blood

Paper and coin currency is quickly going the way of the dinosaur.
Good bye piggy banks and so long to stuffing your mattress with cash anymore.

My currency, my letters,
  my legacy, their toll

Is It a Quite Annoying

Is it a quite annoying
new currency- bitcoins?
They are completely polar
Bitcoins and the dollar.
A dollar and bitcoin,
Like Biden and Beethoven!

Dearest One

Take note: That none of my wants Require currency grand But in it’s stead: Only friendly words, kind gestures And caring touch of hand

People are trying to sleep
Yet I awakened to see
My bed in a heap
And a basket
Dare I go on now
Inbetwixed guile
And next to me an atm explodes

School Days

School day memories,
Were Maths and literacy,
Did compound interest, you see,
Before decimal currency,
Had no calculators,
Used our brains, good for later!

Pieces

love like currency that changes hands,
that falls into cracks between the pavement,
protected by some, squandered by others,
unspent, overdrawn, overwhelmed

Laissez Faire

Words…
  the great currency
  inside my literary account

Inspiration,
  the letters of credit
   —freeing me to spend

(Villanova Pennsylvania: March, 2015)

Premium Member Talking Common Currency

nothing, nothing
not a penny
didn't want one
you keep it
put it in your jar
can't spend it
so put your nose down and
graze the landscape
3/4's of your life

His currency was empty promises.
He doled them out like no tomorrow.
Meanwhile mountain of debt accrued.

Zero Balance

Once spent …
there’s no tomorrow

Once spent …
all time is rife

Once spent …
your fortune tendered

Death’s currency
—is life

Met a hustler named,Funky Cold Cash,

with buckets of ducats and white collar dollars,

i watched as his limousine crashed...

They're gleaning our God from everything.
But "in God we trust" is on our currency.
Coins will soon be replaced by bits without any faith.
Just another tool for shearing the sheep.

Mystical Currency

Richness of mind
the money no matter
A visual feast
uncountable wealth

Conceptual bullion
perceptual bitcoin
Intuitive treasure
— a fortune indwelt

Regret

Bonfires of instruments play faded relics
of song.
Hungry enough to steal, fingers beg, know longer
do they hold a lover or hope.
I am a disfigured statue vandalized by currency
of regret.

My spirit steadfast

as Swiss Franc in many stores

                                                                         Foreign currency

My Favorite Currency

I like a global currency
I hate to convert money
In Laos
Wars are fought and lost
Over paper money
That is worth nothing
When are they making money
Out of rice
So more people can eat when they starve
