rolly poly foley kitty cat

Rolly poly foley kitty cat
Ate a sandwich with a fried-up rat
Coughed up a bit on my welcome mat
Because he did not want to get totally fat

Typos

Checking each link in the chain
it would be easier with a pen;
The click clack of typos;
I hope that no one knows
my editor coughed again.

Sully Had a Dirty Toe

Sully had a downright dirty toe
She scrubbed it ‘til it was aglow.
It shriveled and it coughed.
Then it promptly fell off.
At the end of my marigold row.

Bette's Habit

There was a young lady named Bette
Who puffed on her first cigarette
She coughed and she spluttered
Then seriously muttered
This sure is one thing I'll regret

Stan Keefeat

Stan Keefeet sure loved his old tennis shoes
They did not love him, was not any news
When kicked off
Everyone coughed
With lots of crying and cussing and boos!

To Be This Human

To be this human

made from stardust

coughed into life

carved hollow to hold the heaviness of being.

To be this

dot

among dots

comes with questions.

Rosa Canina

She has coughed red
aortic blooms on kitchen towels.

The blood has a black sheen,
a puddle full of storm-clouds.

I tug the fur around her throat
until she forgets.

When he coughed and sneezed out his plate
His date had quick wits
And smiled, "Hey! It fits!
Y'all gnaw thas jes godda be fate!"

The Misery of a Cold

For days I coughed hard and hurt my guts,
drank tea like Britons from china cups,
the virus never left,
this poor guy never slept...
did this bad cold come from unwashed mugs?

Boris and Doris

Boris and Doris

There was a man name Boris
who had a wife name Doris
when he coughed
wife did scoff
they both couldn't sing chorus.

Arty Stuff No 9

Arty stuff No 9

An impressionist called Vincent van Gogh
Developed a bit of a cough,
Whilst shaving one morning
He coughed without warning
And THAT'S how he cut his ear off!!

As I Was Walking In the Snow

While walking in the snow in my dream
a stalker blew my whole serene snow scene
threw snowballs at it
which it coughed out and spit
chase resumed by a snow blowing machine

Take Your Pick

My furry friend coughed up a big hairball,
she coughed so hard the darn thing hit the wall,
so while I cleaned up the mess,
wasn't too happy I confess...
but it does beat the backside waterfall.

Tricked In Treating

Like a zombie at a town picnic
Scarfing brains in my room, like a shtick
My costume I offed
For I retched and coughed
Mom said, "That was the ultimate trick!"

Chap From Calcutta

There was an old chap from Calcutta,
Who bought a new wood as a putter.
‘A bogey?’ he coughed.
‘This green isn’t soft -’
And swallowed a ball in mid-splutter.

Muse Hicks Calling

to muse...
hicks noted sound-effects
and their re-actions...

with other muse hicks
sound effects to code notes...
muse hicks coughed up

music...
morse code and
computer programming...

Hypochondriac 3

i know he
just wiped
his nose
while he
coughed
and then
put away
that
shopping
cart

so let me
pick another
while i pick
my nose and
wonder is
that other
person
watching
me because
i'm also

paranoid

Safety Net

i caught myself
starting to cry
a tear was
welling

up

but the
well is done
dry so chocked
up i coughed some

dust

and brushed off
my coat don't
need to
take

on

any
more
of a load
already heart's

heavy

God Coughed and Deafened Thousands

god coughed
& deafened
thousands
sorry he said
but by then
it was too
late
many shook
radios
slapped
the sides of
t.v. sets
thinking the
fault was
mechanical
none were
prepared for
the sneeze
of extinction
that
followed

Moonbow

I am the shadow person
leaning against the brittle stone coughed wall
an ember amber
occasionally catching on the jutted edges
of an nearly human face
stumbling from one shadow waterfall
to next
none turn the head
for fear
i am looking back

Phil Martin the Limerick Man

Phil Martin the limerick man
Who has coughed up a toad at ten
And the toad crimples
With her two dimples
Says" Phil now you may puke my hen".

The Fiddler and the Frog

Sugar water
Coughed
No worm inside.
Frogs bellies are completely full.
Children ask for more.
Fiddle around some more.
Brushing off the tail.
Sweet slumber of heavy rain.
Sweet rain drips and drops.
Sugar water.

Fen Blow 4

Fen Blow another blow to farmers and their workers,

as the wind joyously exhaused itself knocking the crops

for six, drying the land of nutrients that are coughed up as prices will

cause consumers to splutter as everyone to curse the damn dry wind in Spring!

A Void Myself

i coughed and caught
myself
    between a time
where sense and sight
betrayed
    my common sense
a void myself i disavow
the space a cube
    was less the warmth
a winter brings
a sneeze relieved
    my mystic trance
and the day -- resumed i !
