autumn’s most clever harvest moon
parades above scratchy hay bales
September shows us October’s nearness
Kansas and Nebraska cool off wonderfully
harvest moon love of September formulates plan
hear a knock on meadow’s door?
School's out, kids are at play.
Sun's heat is relentless.
Swimming is the perfect
solution to cool off.
Slip and slides and sprinklers,
so much fun in the sun.
Sweet iced tea and Kool-ade
slake a summertime thirst.

How does the wind make the sand
Stand up and dance like that
Why is the shade so close to

I’ll have to dig a hole to really

Tracker of tiny time
I write mountaintops
To read the bottom line
Storm catacomb castles
Swarm like Hollywood hustle
Transform fat into mighty muscle
Warm and happy
With an afternoon apple
Fruit salad ballads
Round about rapids
Cool off in a bath of acid
Knock the voices out of my head
Using a rubber mallet
In the heat of summer
It was nice to bath in the river
Ten minutes away
A great place to cool off
And not crowded by tourists
Cigano boys bronzed and
Physically perfect
Jumped from the bridge
Of the warming of the planet
I know nothing, only this
The river is dry in May and has
Been so the last five years
But old people tell me it has
Happened before, the river
Was dry for years in the fifties
The fire inside;
That's burning,
In your heart,
It's striking.
Once it starts,
It won't stop.
And the tears,
Begin to drop.
So just set,
Teardrops.
To the regret,
That won't stop.

I don’t like to swim
So a swimmer I’m not,
But I am in Florida
And it is hot!
While visiting friends,
We sat by the pool,
The sun beating down
Where I’d sweat like a fool.
But I learned a new way
To cool off, doing laps
By walking in water -

My pale New York complexion

I offer laps of sound to listen to, one by one
