Cobwebs

cob webs gather in the quiet corner
congregating mind dust
adhering to the vacant synapses
vibrating in the heat of random thought.

Whiteness Contest

Sea caps, white, shadows Fin, cutting above surface White caps part, Great White
Herons calling out Congregating over cove A gaggle of clouds
Eagle soars above Snowshoe hare, new tracks, no hare Disguise of whiteness

I Am the One

I AM THE ONE

I am the one
That was
A faint echo
Of voices in dust
Past hazards in the wind.

A being of itself
Perhaps
Entered into form
Into veins of my brain
Into my slight arms
To enclose within
Dusty configurations
Congregating to
 Domains of high romance.

Ice Cream Man

Here comes Jolly Joe the ice cream man.
We loved congregating when we heard his bell.
We always heard it one street away, so we ran inside.
Begging quarters and dimes off all of our grownups.
It was disappointing when they said “no”,
but then they said yes, oh, my!
What a treat!

If I Do Not Show Up

does not matter who I meet
or how many there congregating
I am always the first to arrive
which is why I like to drive myself

I do not like being late
or on time
it does not delight me

if I do not show up without a call or a text
aliens have taken me to Venus
i have been kidnapped by monsters
and they smashed my phone into bits
or I am dead

Over By The Bridge

Over by the bridge watch them link
Swans congregating before flight
Curtains of dusk drape at the brink
Over by the bridge

The ebon sky soon out of sight
as the red sun begins to sink
the chill of autumn fills the night

Gliding force, unabashed blinks
huddled they aim for evening light
as they swim together in sync
over by the bridge

Poetic Brook Where Adverbs Bloom

Astounding spot for poems to arrive
Babbling brook of adjectives blooming
Cool waters of creativity congregating
Delectable phrases flowing with sheer delight
Enthusiastic muse enjoys nature’s essence
Fortuitous this inspirational place found
Gleeful gratitude to be her welcome guest
Highlands magic in this little sliver of heaven
Jumping adverbs splash with joy in jubilancy

Idle

This must be what it's like
To die in your sleep.

I'm disappointed.

What's missing?
Absent are my general stimulants.

This is slow.

If someone else were here,
Would I be solved?

It's quiet.

A clock's ticking,
But it doesn't know me.

There must be tears I cannot cry.
What would I cry about?

I think they're hiding,
Congregating around
And drowning out my heart.

I feel only steady rhythm;
That's not life.

Covid 19

Is it just more news of doom,
maybe another attempt to deceive?
Introduced every year,
another potential end to conceive.

There is a lot here to fear,
much more than meets the eye.
Beware of all evil,
congregating under our sky.

Famine and starvation,
lack of knowledge throughout our land.
With such a growth in population,
more illness will surely be at hand.

Be vigilant in your actions,
wash your hands and stay clean.
This global scare will soon pass,
this covid 19.
