Endless String

Leonard Cohen…
an unfinished poem
blowing in the wind
forever a reminder
—to start again

leonard cohen sang
'there's a crack in everything
that's how light gets in'

mind is to be stilled
that morning mists dissipate
at dawning of light

the dove is me

                                  in a Leonard Cohen way

                                       naked before you

Cohen Sang Song

Cohen Sang Song

Cohen sang song which was a carol;
Now they have Trump over a barrel;
He started new cult,
Called sexual assault;
Not only that presidency is imperil.

Prison Cohen Started To Head

Prison Cohen Started To Head

Prison is where Cohen started to head,
Which is something that he does dread;
His teeth brushing;
Commode slushing;
Eating meals and spending nights in bed.

Premium Member The Lepre-Cohen

On Saint Pat’s Day, with the Guinness flowin’
All night long the blarney was blown’
I’ll trap a Leprechaun—I’d shout
With chicken soup, not stout!
Then caught the rarely seen Lepre-Cohen!

Cohen and World of Hurt

Cohen and World of Hurt

More MSNBC News.

What Cohen has is wobbly world of hurt,
And appears to be having a growth spurt,
Too much strain;
He  went insane;
Also has looked like he is loosing his shirt.

Jim Horn

Yep. You guessed it. Over ten again.

Being Eighteen

I feel so lost,
Like a soup can
That has misplaced its label.
I want to be the wild child
In a Cohen poem,
Holding her hair back
To light a cigarette on the gas range.
But where is Leonard?
Without him,
eighteen feels childish,
Silly.
It doesn't fit me well at all.

Evidence Seized and People Pleased

Evidence Seized and People Pleased

What they did was witness to have teased,
And then all the evidence they soon seized;
Find things needed,
They stampeded;
Exactly what they wanted and were pleased.

Jim Horn

All of the evidence that they have seized
from Cohen.

Please Tease About Being Some Sleaze

Please Tease About Being Some Sleaze

Trump's prior secretary said that Cohen
is a sleaze bag. If he is, you can imagine
what Trump is.

With absolute profound perfection please,
Tell me how can Cohen and Trump tease,
Constant pain;
Drive insane,
And also both being big bag full of sleaze.

The Beginning of the End

65 million views received from all around the world
while the master of emotion remains comparatively unheard;
how is it that John Legend is so well known and loved
when Leonard Cohen, a truer god, is so misunderstood?
i listened to this song and it stirred in me the thought
that modern music's murdering the majesty of art.

Even though she’s a huge singing star,
Lady Gaga can be quite bizarre.
On late night talk shows, she
simply will not go pee
in the places where most people are.

In the trash can of her dressing room
she might urinate. We can assume
since Cohen collected
some pee she’d ejected,
had it scented, it’s Eww-de-perfume.

Premium Member Cohen Family Simcha

O, I love to attend a Cohen family simcha**
      That is where I really love to be-e-e!

    For when you're at a Cohen family simcha,
      You are always treated roy-al-ly!

**A simcha is Hebrew or Yiddish for a happy event, such as a wedding.

                  The ditty above is to be sung to the tune of
                    "The Oscar Mayer Wiener Whistle Song"

I Smoke One of My Mother's Tasteless Mistys

And I listen to some old Leonard Cohen
And my conscious mind
listens for footsteps
And my subconscious meditates
And universes are formed
in the infinite multiverse
And others are destroyed,
some through collision,
some through internal combustion,
And some go to war with one another,
culminating in mutual extinction
And I smoke fast
And I pray not to hear footsteps
enter into my universe.

Realize That Always Wise

What I soon started to realize,
For each crack is someone wise;
You either met now or before;
Became so many and galore
Be quiet and us will surprise.

James Horn

Salute to Leonard Cohen quotes
Folded in pockets under his coats.
Can consider this an anecdote;
Who next for President will they promote.

Without being vetted or having a
security clearance as well.

Blue Nun Music

The dilapidated décor,
and Sergeant Pepper
wore the same tones.

Burgundy stocking
hung on a lava lamp,
A poster of Leonard Cohen
as a young man.

Paddington apartments
travel by train unhurried by time.
A girl drinking Liebfraumilch
waiting for me to come home
with a used album of Rubber Sole

We had vinyl prayer-wheels,
a laminated love affair.
We had red and yellow music;
bottles of Blue Nun wine.

Hey.

What is this thing over my head?
What alerted me to this wing span...
and why do I long to fly with you?

Blue heron, you do not sink
you amaze my very eyes
I, rise to reach you.

And here you are, me too.
and some cursed ghost makes three.
Well...I liked the hair on your arms.
You liked my dark eyes.

At some invincible point.
all is gone. Done.
One fact though, mother
could sing Leonard Cohen.
Hah.

Pleasantly
Bull headed, bird brained, chicken and foxy
From a bramble of a family tree
A lover of Cohen, Midler and Dennis Lee
Who regularly feels awe, paralyzing angst, and humility
Fearing the end of birds singing, seasons changing and liberty
Hoping to see a Purple Martin, a Gyrfalcon, and fifty
Proudly from Vanier

Well what a way to start the day Halleluyah and happy thoughts and all Absolutely nothing can match it Your smile is a mile wide it's a scandal Hope it lasts the whole day long Wouldn't that be a damn kick in the head Careful though for serious injury May end up strapped to a hospital bed Imagine if Leonard Cohen wrote About murder, robbery, mistreating beagles Summing up his thoughts He was speaking of disappointing people

You Know You Love Me.

i can use the puppy dogs eyes,
or smile and flutter my eye lashes.
because im really a sweetheart.
even though i act shy, and sit in the corner.
i can turn on the charisma.
just because i look away, avoiding eye contact,
i know what i am.
the girl that loves cupcakes
and mad dancing.
hot pink polish
polka dots and argyle socks.
because ill make you love backseat kisses,
the cramps and leonard cohen.
give it a little while.
you know you love me.

Premium Member on a warm september afternoon

winding down
relaxing with a glass of pinot
enjoying the subtle joys of life
going with the flow
swaying to the rhythm
of mellow music
soaking in the sun
and late summer vibes

and then it's leonard cohen on low
from speakers in a far corner
feeling oozy feeling fine
like an unexpected soft caress
enhanced by the effects of wine
sensations warm and mellow
embarking on a journey of delight

transported
yes indeed transported

Joining the Club

Occasionally we might miss
Performers so admired
Their talents still get airtime
Though it’s years since they’ve expired.

A case in point is Leonard Cohen –
I knew of his existence,
But to his books and concerts somehow
I displayed resistance.

However, a museum has
A very moving show
Filled with footage of his singing
And so much I didn’t know.

I guess no one can stop me,
Though I have procrastinated,
From becoming one of Leonard’s fans,
Although a bit belated.

Leonard Cohen Translation

"And I'll dance with you in Vienna,
I'll be wearing a river's disguise.
The hyacinth wild on my shoulder
my mouth on the dew of your thighs.
And I'll bury my soul in a scrapbook,
with the photographs there and the moss.
And I'll yield to the flood of your beauty,
my cheap violin and my cross.

 "Take This Waltz", a
 translation by Leonard Cohen of
 the poem "Little Viennese Waltz"
 by Federico García Lorca.
