Clipped Wings

Trapped within flutter
    Unable to fly soul birds
        Languish like dead fish

Paperclip Hearts

My favorite works of art
Are paperclip hearts
Bent on a whim
By loves gentle hand
Clipped tight to love letters and cards

Premium Member Clipped wings

i've never felt so alone as the day they carried you away
my life ended as abruptly as it had begun

Meatsy

Shifted child
hither and away
ripped roots clipped
soil untended
uncertain tender shoots
beneath the snow
fear spring thaw

Nail clipped hands scale ivory tones striving for bright major key rhythm try after try until finally applause.

Clipped Parrots

With notes shredding ears homicidal,
contestants squawk madly to sidle
despite what they lack
they keep flocking back
to die on American Idol.

Cancer

You carry such burdens with silence
With a caged heart and clipped wings
Alone in shadows of fear you stand
And all your soul wants to do is sing
Form:

Kitchen Check

Clipped close
(mine)
Speculation lingers on
Cautious shoulders,
Hooped ankles.

The clean sky
The dirty earth
And all the
bird scraps
in between.

Clipped

Clipped are my wings
Gouged and feasted upon by inners sins
Once pure now diluted
once diluted now corrupted
Lostwrapped in the chaos of my hardened blood.

So overfed, the nice salesman said,

"You clipped my wings, oh how they bleed, Ed."

Low overhead, so we spent our bread,

On many things, we never needed!

For Dad I struggled like a slave Being clean-cut and tight-lipped I hope he's happy with my grave Cuz the grass is always clipped

Clipped

A new education in my boarding
Forget what you think you know
It's irrelevant here
If you seek nothing
You don't need to learn
But you will soon find out
Why most return

          A man with big dreams
          Child born into slavery
          With scissors in hand
I clipped to a better life
          I am Alonzo Herndon

Each Child; A Wing-Clipped Angel

Living carefree
And caring not
Of life's joy-burst, half forgot;
But elsewhere sunned.

Heaven's upleapt;
To Earth which fell.
Uninterrupted play-spell.
Child's soul, least stunned!

  Pristine, precisely clipped greens

  Water hazards imperil a golfer’s well-being

Going

You.
Who saw the best
in me
You. Who
gave
these clipped wings
    a
       way
               to
test the edge
and
recognize
a
fall.

So. Speak.
Frustrate me small
and needless
then
Go.

Angel Smile

For the love of God
you are that angel
leaving gospel photo's
In clipped wings.

Ours is a fancy world
of painters
and fishes divine
see the clouds to shine.

Hold on let me
see that face to smile.

Sheep Shepherds (We Ain'T Much Smarter)

You fixin' to get CLIPPED (clueless beast!)
Or dismembered for a mutton feast
Make a break from your breeders
Don't follow lyin' leaders!
Or you gonna' get FLEECED (at the least!)

Without

Without you I lay silent
Without you I sit as an empty vessel
a soul without a song
a body without a dance
a book with out a story to tell
a bird with clipped wings
Without you I stand lost
Without you I am nothing

Foolish flight

midnight has struck
joy into sin
shame like a veil
conceals where I've been

a bird in a cage
free from freedom
and all it enslaves

wings clipped
to keep me from harm
all would I give
to fly in the storm

Warm Blue

I go out for walks
once in a blue moon

when I do it’s a warm day
and the sky is many shades of blue

the moon
is just a clipped fingernail

I’m so happy now
I’m over the moon and weather
not under it

Escape

One day she flew away
and just like a butterly
she was free
her silken wings were not clipped anymore
and for the first time in years
she knew her worth
but this time... she would ensure that no one would ever catch her ever again...

Premium Member A Winter's Harvest

With long hair wrapped up, rugged nails dirt dipped,
denim overalls and barnyard boots,
I set forth to get them gnarly raspberry stalks clipped,
and return with harvested horseradish roots
and frost freshened persimmon fruits.
