Limerick October 23
She goosed him to sign the deed,

                                      And kept him on chicken feed;

                                           Soon he became plump

                                           With a loathsome rump

                                      But she could not save a quid....

Premium Member Wyatt-Chicken Feed
Wyatt's alexandrine combined a rhyming fourteen
To introduce a novel verse,to the poetry scene;
For we poets he bequeathed this literary treasure
In couplet of iambs,some christen a 'poulter's measure'.

Note:Thomas Wyatt(1503-42) used over 70 different stanza forms,but now is best known for

statements or for burlesque.
I label this quatrain version a 'wyatt'...

Their eggs were hard-boiled, nothing ready to fry up.
We’ll have to throw away that spa he said to his pup.

If you throw away our spa, we will quit laying they said.
The hens loved sitting in the hot water until their bottoms were red.
Could you give us regular eggs once in a while? Asked Farmer Jones.
Rebel hens laughed, spit chicken feed at him and recited mean poems....

2017 Year of the Rooster
"It is the year of the coq"
Said Alice from Dallas
"Rooster rhymes with booster
and gallus with phallus"

Ladies, prepare for a goose
Grope Meister Trump's on the loose
Not one clucking request
Will ever feather your nest

The Russians gave him a boost
So Grope Meister Trump rules the roost
But if you follow his lead,
"You're fired", with no chicken feed!

The Coq struts and crows
But forgets what he owes
To everyone in the coop
Who did not know "dupe" from poop!...
