Most have a bit of sweet
The crust can be flaky and flavorful
Or it can be a part of the sugar taste
Each bite is a bit of a surprise

Add an ice-cold dollop of vanilla iced cream to mine.
My daddy eats his with a sliver of cheddar cheese on top.

Two portabella caps Stems removed deeply and diced.
Frills down in olive oil and butter (with stem pieces)
Pan hot
Flip to frills up
Fill with italian dressing and cheddar cheese
Fry covered at simmer
Steam spinach
Steam parsnips in buttered water
Saute two filet mignon wrapped in bacon
divide equally on two plates
Sip wine and share the joy with friends
Snuggle
Cuddly, sneezy, sleepy, tiring
Daughter of the seventies
Lover of chocolate, coca cola, and cheddar cheese
Who feels old, tired and useless
Who fears grey hair, wrinkles and flab
Who would like to see(but not likely in this life...)weight loss, peace and love, and regularity

For Kim Merryman's Try A Triolet Poetry Contest
I am giving a kids poem a shot I have never done one before
I run through your house
I am Just a little mouse
Looking for cheddar cheese
I cannot not find it anywhere
But I do see a mouse trap over there
Let me go see what kind of cheese
Swiss cheese that stinks to me
I will just eat this electric cord
This maybe a shocker for me
For electricity will hurt you
So never be a fool like me
Stay away from electricity
Imagine diving into a pool of broccoli
Oh the aroma and sensation
And then perhaps
A river of cheddar cheese
Emptying into the pool
Oh what a delight
I can smell and taste the experience
And then maybe a wooden fork
To start shoving all the broccoli
Down one’s throat
Oh the beautifulness
But don’t choke
Slowly enjoy the broccoli
Maybe rain will come
Showering with a vodka sauce
I just love my broccoli
What Once Was
It was a time when stars were big
shining like Christmas coral and the moon
was yellow as Cheddar cheese, and real
as David Niven's balloon
The air was a golden breath, and we were
rich until mineral seekers came, took
our gold and replaced it with smog
Industrial dust filled our lungs, they said
It was suitable for mass employment
Stars retracted, became dots under
a child's eyelid waking up from sleep
We live in the residue of the past.
Firefly gravy and fluffy white mashed potatoes if you please.
I will have that next to cherry pie and greasy soup that heaves.
I like my food to surprise me in the middle of mid taste.
If it starts out sweet and ends up sour, I have won the race.
I have to add a green vegetable? What about a broccoli?
With a bit of cheddar cheese, drop it on my favorite knee.
I like my food to walk toward me and wiggle, dance or neigh.
It makes me feel powerful at the end of a tiring day.
