Chalky Causes

Chalky causes
Covered radiant, red eyes
Sore and fractured from
A blow to the chest
Leaving only
A beaten heart
That beats no more

Storm Rolling In

Clouds rapidly fluctuating, from chalky white to smoky ash.
Rain falling down from the darkened sky.
Leaving a subtle scent of fresh earthy tones in its wake.

Cult of the Bone

The cult of the bone
the bone
the bone
Chalky and porous and white
as a stone
crushed in a cauldron
in flames in a fire
brewed as a potion
to cure my desire.

Stars Shine

chalky white stars shine in a dead sky
shadowed clouds roll by
stars still shine
unseen by the human eye,
hours come and go
the sun travels up high
stars still shine
made invisible by a daylight lie

Self Portrait

A stone; a grey stone,
Cut roughly square
Neither rough nor smooth
Chunky but nothing sharp
Damp
Cold
Covered in a thin film of chalky brown clay
Turning
Floating
Alone in a dark space.

-o'Dirty-Water-

O' dirty water
a terrible chocolate runs
at the perfect stone
~
dull dirty water
stands before ready chalky
because of the mud
~
no longer runs clean
sits up murky and blacken
no longer perfect

Sheep Carriage

Night sky: lifeless, dull, chalky gray

Apathetic expressions face one way

Eyelids heavy, long day

Foggy windows, potholed roads

Warm breaths exhaled, the seats are cold

Zombied stares at blinding screens

Infinite autopilot, we're all machines

No Consequence.

These chalky bones
A brittle breath
and all in life that is complex
A turning point
of monument
When ideas burn their thoughts to death
A settled sight
A twitching limb
A hand which looks so frail and thin
My mother's face
has been replaced
By sickness with no consequence.

Mysterious Mind

Meadows swaying with fresh plant life
Cliffs stand chalky surround the valley
Deep within it breaths heaven
Habitants there within caves
Ladies of hair scarfs and long dresses
Men with strong structure and charisma
Whispering winds of imagination leaves
Farmiliarising myself to the re-occurring dream

Crucial Understanding

The death,
             it's a pack of bones,
             chalky crumbly...
            Life is light at speed...
            In this passage, we drop
            here, the meat burden,
            and we conduct only
             The spirit...
             To perform the final trip...
             crucial is to accept
             and live it... !

Serene Madness

Dreams stolen
By an illness
With no compassion
With no heart or soul

A chalky pill
A weapon against the madness
That lives to destroy
The brilliance that lives inside us

A bitter illusion
Our bodies free to roam the world
While our minds are locked away
Prisonsers of this frightening journey
Inside this manic depressive existence
That we call home

Bottomless Damn

I descended
Depths pulling
Ropes tightened
Swelling water
Chalky crimson
Pricks of loose twine
Slivers in my ear
Jabbing
Hard.
Red.
Flesh.
Strangling inside.

I collapsed
Head cocked back
Throat asphyxiated
Veins flooded
Liberated
Weaving in a downward
Spiral of hopelessness
Sustained vertigo
Aborted birthright
Chumming across the
Ocean floor

Chalky Candy Hearts

Sitting in the bowl a bit chalky
colored story telling candy;
Timeless messages sent melt hearts;

Romance lives within these hearts,
updated verse but still written chalky;
Lovers still trade flowers and candy;

Sweet on you, lips taste like candy;
Sugar buzz from fluttering hearts,
after taste leaves my mouth chalky;

An old tradition of chalky candy hearts.

Chiltern Childhood

Beechwoods,downland and common heath,
Chalky soil inches beneath;
Trees,jostling tall,
Leaf,yellow-brown in Autumn,fall;
Fallow deer feed at dawn and dusk,
Treading flat the beechnut husk;
Open heath,sandy soiled,
Whence commoners once toiled;
Roedeer,muntjac proliferate
As Nature reverts and liberates;
Winding brooks and narrow streams,
In mingled,muddled childhood dreams.

The Teacher and the Foundling

THE TEACHER AND THE FOUNDLING

Dirty raw face
Lost in a vicious
Dog-eat-dog world ,
His tears washed rivulets
Into my chalky hand .

Dissolving into
My soft inner soul ,
He sensed mother
And clung to the skirts
Of my conscience.

My home’s warm respite ,
Another world of gentle feeling ;
Before the return to darkness
And bruised cold fingers
In beer bottle bedrooms .

Heirs Poetica

Once I was an artist
I painted in the sky,
the rainbows and the sunsets
but they never seemed to dry.
  Once I was a poet I wrote
in chalky hues,
I wrote of love and raindrops
in purples,reds and blues
  Once I was a player
I strode from town to town
singing songs and acting
we traveled all around.
  Now my soul is empty
there's nothing more to do
and I have nothing left to leave ,
no heritage for you.

Driveway Rainbows

Soft rain had blurred the lines
Softened the edges
Frizzed the sharpness
Of artistic angst

Smiles drooped,
fingers grew thinner,
somehow reaching out.

The eyes caught the raindrops
Blinked them into dappled blues
Noses spread in humor's humidity
Glasses sliding from their tips

They would all leave
Float away on a
Chalky rainbow river

Leaving us to wonder
Where do they go?

Zombie Ex-Lovers

Two young zombies met for a midnight tryst.

Miss Zombie claimed that she'd never been kissed!

As the mellow moon caressed her chalky face,

Mister Zombie was quite taken by her grace!

He whispered sweet nothings in her ear.

She said, "My love, that's what I like to hear!"

All was going swell 'til he whispered, "And moreover,

My honey dear, you look like death warmed over!"

God's Heart

God’s Heart

I sat outside feeling terribly low
until, a heart-shaped patch went by,
amidst a blanket of cloudy calico.

I pondered what this message meant,
winds threw limbs off trees
as a heavenly cloud mass leaves.

White against cerulean sky
a love heart shape appears again
this time chalky, alone – a Friend.

Whether cloudy, or clear, His love is here,
remember God’s sign from above,
when he sent an olive branch by dove.

Nature Rhyme Time

beechwoods downland
           common heath
chalky soil
      inches beneath

trees
      jostling tall
leaf,yellow-brown
          in Autumn fall

fallow deer feed
    at dawn and dusk
 treading flat
        the beechnut husk

roedeer muntjac proliferate
where Nature reverts
                  & liberates

colours tint our view
         daylight
so soon out of sight

 waves goodbye

      all creatures exhale

a sigh

The Departure

We depart from the black slime of downtown walls
And the yellow air in the harbor.
We ran with knights, dark and swift
With the texture and pallor
Of a dead man's cheek.
And we knew they were evil
Because they do the harm we don't recognize in ourselves.
Until---
So we depart
From them and from ourselves.
Out of the yellow harbor lights
Through the chalky fog
And beyond danger's hollow dream.
For that other, yellow-less glow shines
Where I have no name.
