Stagnating....

Suffocating.....

Stagnant Pools
There was no place to wade
in the stagnant pools of Corona.
The virus sank our feet into the mire.
Help was on the way, as we submerged
into the cesspool....

That's Not a Well
I am standing near a well
that has a pretty bad smell.
Then I realize
as I use my eyes,
that it's a cesspool and not a well.

Inspired by another member's poem....

Insomnia
I close my eyes
Orbits sunk deep within
Scowering the cesspool of dream fragments.

I lay cool against the flat sheet
Waiting patiently for deep sleep to cast all
dream fragments from memory....

Street Urchins
We urchins did survive
The cesspool of our streets.
Our joy at being alive
Depended on such treats
As husbandry can do.
In sounds of songs unsung
We learned this as we grew--
Flowers grow from dung
And ancient songs renew....

Truer Words
Why must words never be so true?
Turning my skin from olive to blue,
From the cesspool of my heart comes pain,
It reeks with the stench of an infected vein,
Someone ought to come forth, break the vault,
Though from an introspective look, it was my fault....

Whatsapp Woes
Whatsapp Woes

I marvel at the morning dump,
Where innards churn, as a pump,
Where mighty thoughts,
Of what aught, and naught,
Get flushed into the Whatsapp sump!

A meeting spot
For thoughts to rot,
To raise a stink,
Smudge still-wet ink;
Cesspool of noxious broth!...

Shipwrecked
Shipwrecked

A great poet
I'm probably not
A brilliant writer
The same response
My own best Critic
the job I've got
Yet the words float
to the surface
In my mind's cesspool
Of self doubt
My fingers swim
Tapping buoyant words
Flotsam and jetsam
That survived
my shipwrecked thoughts....

Water Dissolved
Snake cuts through the flames of judgement
Sigils become homogenized black.
Snake cuts through the flames of judgement
Sigils become homogenized
Back
Through the dread cesspool of filth
Filth defines what defiles
Nebuchadnezzar unlocks the key
The broken god may rest today
And forevermore.
For the One in Flesh is dead....

Collective Disregard....
Got caught...hoodwinked
only a moment,don't blink
cesspool...full of fools
disregarding golden rule
playing games are the lame
crying shame...pointing blame
poison tipped are the spears
tongues sharp gouging ears

Catatonic catastrophe
blinded minds now hard too see
being led further along
away,away...from our heart of heart song........

A Dime In the Grime
Feeble steps
Eyed the plum
Nestled
In a cesspool of grime
His eyes they twinkled
Tongue salivating
It's been long
The hunger so strong
End of the road
For a body so cold
The car came screeching
Out popped a head
Here take this dime
Now stop your whine
His heart it panicked
The plum in smithers
Now there are no pangs
For this body asunder--

Premium Member Open Your Eyes
Seeing eyes, eyes that see
different eyes
For you and me.
Some eyes that look at a perfect scene
See a different image from you and me
They only see what they want to see

Why feast your eyes on a perfect
flower.
All some can see is wealth and power.
Power is a powerful tool,
It can create an unhealthy cesspool
Of corruption and death.

Some close their eyes,
Refusing to see,
What is clear to you and me?...

Vanquished Trust
If you a seeking for trust?
Behold deep within your inner self.

Prisoner in a castle called chest.
Captive in a chamber that's blood red.

Bound by shackles of impure deeds.
Whose jagged edges have defiled.

The basic definition of humane kind.
She is the love child of hope and charity.

Apocryphal gospel preached by demigods.
Inundating the analytical mind.

Begetting a cesspool of Discrimination.

Love has lost its sanctity....

Upchuck
Ah, this sea
Of filth and pee
A cesspool of germs
That swiftly churns
A dreadful place
To hunch my face
I squirm and I moan
Over this so-called throne
To gag and hurl
My insides whirl
I stop to breathe
While I gasp and heave
I wipe off the drips
Of spittle on my lips
And clench my gut
Hope for anything but
A second round
Lift myself off the ground
To flush this sea
Of my debris
Watching it drain
As I try to refrain
Another wretched bend
Over my porcelain friend...

Premium Member Marinated, Dude
Are you in the mood
  for a poem about food
Something marinated, dude
  or grilled, barbequed

     Tangentially:

Have you ever viewed
  a painting in the nude
Meaning (if you're shrewd)
  that you are no prude...

And would you ever collude
  or possibly intrude --
wade into a family feud
  a cesspool of moral turpitude

     Back-on-Track:

Is your gastromo-palate imbued
  with delights that include
a smorgasboard of seafood
  dainty caviar, finger-lickin'-good...
