A Celebration of Life

Life is meant to be lived and celebrated
Celebrated for those who make living purposeful
Purposeful to them, and to others meaningful
Meaningful enough to be celebrated

Premium Member Fashion Plate In the Workplace

It's a celebration of life,
It's a celebration of self,
An inner spirit and style,
expressed thru blazes of color.
Daring to be an original,
in a gallery of the commonplace.

Premium Member Hanks Celebration of Life

Hank’s celebration of life
advertised by kids and wife
hootenanny tonight
flyer says it is out of sight

it was a blast and went until two
refusing to leave were twenty-two
jokes, laughter, stories and such
Hank would have loved this very much!

Your Smile Lingers

warm feel of the embrace
withering leaves
time stops
hangs like a spider
celebration of life

intoxicating lips
wander in the dark valley
scents the lanes of the mind
a long sojourn
wonder like a child
floating on thin air
unsettled memory waning
your smile lingers

Premium Member five birds in unison

what does it mean?
five birds swooping together in tandem
under the arm of a hickory, upward in unison
gliding as if they are fingers of one hand
are they headed toward a celebration of life?
not a sound is heard as they disappear over the ridge
five birds in sync, flying in an choreographed line
not making a big deal about it

Premium Member The Chorus of Dawn- Haiku Medley

World hushed in silence
          Birds unable to keep still…
             The chorus of dawn

                Melody of praise
Chases the shroud of the night…
             Blessed hues of morn

           Dawn gives way to day
            The celebration of life…
               Is well under way

Premium Member Oh No I have Lost my Ability to Conform

Oh, no! The one giving the eulogy said.
I have lost my keen ability to conform.
Her family gave each other knowing looks;
she had never obeyed.
She was not the type to follow along,
color in the lines or do what others did.
The giggling started and it never stopped;
best celebration of life ever.
Because their matriarch had pre-videotaped her entire eulogy.

Falling Petals of Rose

This poem is for my lovely friend Andrea Dietrich for her falling petals of Rose post:

FALLING PETALS OF ROSE

Premium Member I Ask You

What is that wonderful smell
when a rain shower passes
on a warm summer day?
Is it the fragrance of a new beginning,
quenching us with the exuberance
of youthful joy, a sweet wisp of hope
for the earth to embrace,
a cleansing, a freshness of favor,
a cause for the celebration of life?
I ask you then,
if it is all of that,
why would anyone
with any sense of poetic license
want to own an umbrella?

Celebration of Life - a Tribute - Now a Collaboration

Tim Smith

Dear old playboy Hugh was so full of life

A den full of bunnies and three hot wives

Mansion parties til dawn

Inhibitions forgone

Pleasures and performance without any strife

Jan Allison

All the bunnies are in floods of tears

Hugh was ‘Buck-King’ for so many years

Bunnies will stand around

When Hugh’s popped underground

In their grief they will throw in their ears!

Our One and Only Soul

"our one and only soul"

as the hour glass moves it sands
engagement of freedom rings
it is the essence to forever soar
one step at a time towards light
unleashed for our one and only soul

useful is the art of believing
on any given night wishing on a star
involving the celebration of life
emerging into a vitality that should be
all for us by us approved from above

yesterday is behind the mirror as
something good stands as it should
