Seeking the local coven’s cavern
a pumpkin rolled into a tavern
he met with a wise wizard
who slit him stem to gizzard
now he’s a gruesome jack ‘o lantern

an envious wind
steals from the cavern walls
                                              ….an unheard echo.

Bodies and Shadows

Once we were bodies,
                shining beings,
               under sunshine...
               We are now shadows,
               from the dark cave
                of solitude...

In a cavern beneath the sea; soundly sleeps a dinosaur. His family, small; travels the world beneath the waves. Hunted; I pray they’ll never find any of Nessie’s family.

                Writing when not well
Like being lost in a cavern
                Where does my soul dwell

Cavern

in a cavern
my petroglyph shimmers with color
prisms of inner feelings
reflecting in an underground pool
my thoughts tumble and scream
echoing against limestone walls
returning to me as a whisper
as an answer
as a prayer

Fishwife of the Undead

In a cavern for all the Undead,
they examine the hole in her head,
when she opens her thighs,
maggots drop from her eyes
(it's the smell of sardines that they dread...)

Untitled #55 / the Upstairs Hallway

I stand in the upstairs hallway, hearing
sparks of conversation between my two parents,
my eyes locked upon a distant orange light
that grows in strength as the sun fades.
Our house is a cavern, four souls separate
yet I feel too close.

Famous Nightmare Ii

For a while I fancied revivifying our alliance
Though I have satiated the cavern
I take honor in the many publications and poems
That years and years from now I will compose
Even though you are a dogmatic hellion
You shan’t shun the clasp of fame
Form: Verse

My Reflection

I stare into a puddle
where a man is staring back
he has the look
of my father

I speak into a cavern
and hear my voice returned
made less in itself
folding inward

I am wrenched in my soul
by instances of rapture
taking my hand
calling me brotheri

Water seeping through the ground,
Forming limestone, timeless round
Pillars on the ceilings, or
Columns on the cavern floor.

There, where bats escape the sun,
Nature carves, till Time is done,
Castles in Virginia caves,
Like Egyptian, carved-stone graves.

Premium Member Power of Believing

Jilly took a tiny sip of the cool cavern waters
Rumored to be healing.
This tiny taste felt magical.
A voice in her heart said,” If you believe, you will be cured.”
She gave herself to the will of the brook.
Expecting her affliction to leave her body forever.
And so it did.

What Kept Me Going

Groping in the cavern,
I was badly in need of a lantern,
Bereft of vision,
I was without a mission,
A bat had battered on my hat,
And on my face had swat,
On many a hurdle did I stumble,
But what kept me going,
Were the fireflies of love
Which your heart had been ceaselessly spouting.

We Have Waited

We Have Waited

Regardless of how lone we have waited
God our whole world surely satiated
Each crevice and cavern He did fill in
Even ones that are now a lion's den
With His things there can be educated.

Premium Member Rainbow Cloud of Hope

inspired by pink blossoms
delicacy welcomed in rainbow cloud of hope
underlying truths in pools of psychedelic pinks

far off amber sky takes loving glances
cotton candy fluff parading as clouds
a waterfall of love

deeply rooted
iridescently pretty and compelling
backlit cavern of hope and joy

A dank cavern
Unlit torches on the walls
   Some light easier than others
You bring a compass
Drawing you through the inky darkness
You sense little with just yourself
Armed with recognition
   of the ground
   of yourself
Most compasses grow obsolete
As you find more than they can point you to

deep in a cavern
locked a way
is a pit of darkness
unvisitable in a sad dream
only small drips of love
drain open to feel some
restarting of life

oh father
i do weep at the sound of tears
casts your forgiveness
and start me a new
i do dream
i can change
i will be wash a new

Cloistered in this cavern where chandeliers hang crystalline

Adorning the vaulted ceilings to which

Varicolored stalagmites have so slowly climbed - I find

Exquisiteness etched by time -

Seclusion's serenity.

Feathers Dancing In the Night

A bird flies high above the Twin Towers ash rises from the tomb turning Day into Night. Another bird, disoriented flies blinded into the debris, shreds of clothing swirl about, sailing into the cavern. Two birds attack one another - Feathers Dancing in the Light the night the Towers fell.

fixed twelve ancient existence, dim lit dreamscape.

Quit sorrow dilemma yanked empire squander

tear victim of gravity’s twisted humor,

Hereafter

I saw thee there, stalwart without efface
as all life overcoming, you sat upon that space
some cavern of bestowing
filled rightly to the trace ~

As love in all God's owing
were perched to toll my fate,
Oh there beloved, knowing of life's ebb
and death's erase ~

just you ~ eternal, flowing . . . thy entity's new grace!

The blood calls;
though ether, cross burren;
o’er rolling sea.
The blood calls,
It calls to me.

Womb chant,
rent from cavern deep;
crying from a mountain peak.
The blood calls,
It calls to me.

As I grew and grown should be,
Still, ancient memories call to me.
Though cell and synapse, wild and free,
The blood calls,
It calls to me.
