come
knocking
on your

trying to
find
something

but
even yours
has
a back
door

A leering character
in a bad cartoon
strikes a pose
for forgiveness
a frantic change of pace
to hide the fires
from his face.
Spread her colored tongues
touched every bit of my body
and made me look as a cartoon
dropped in a cake dough
on a rainy evening
Denton's Harry Rutherford
sketched so never got bored
Star of BBC's Caberet cartoon spool
a master with Lowry in the Northern school
James Gilray a characterist
with acerbic comment oft did persist
Dubbed the father of polticised cartoon
famous now for many a lampoon
Don’t ask me
To write a cartoon on Islam
Write a cartoon on the Ku Klux Klan
Or on Diana’s car accident
You have a better chance to survive

Donald Trump says kids are immune
So classrooms must open - and soon!
If teachers die
We all know why:
Trump gets his facts from a cartoon!
Schulz brought to life little Snoopy
gave him two ears that were droopy
concocting a sweet lovable beagle
an ace who could fly like an eagle
Her caricature full of lampoonery
Drawn in the light of fine moonery
Some of us laugh
At her autograph
Til Grandma said “Brilliant Cartoon-ery!”
He is a caricature of his Dad
A faker, imposter, jester, and cartoon
Some say he’s a scoundrel, some kind of cad.
His reputation depicts a buffoon.

I know there's a man in the moon
He looks down like a lonely cartoon
He flies his night kite
in the dark side of light
Whilst whistling a lunatic tune
Snoopy, hero of Peanuts cartoon fame
Sure knew how to play the sympathy game
He never said Boo
Or even Yahoo
And became every lady reader's flame
The sailorman named Popeye
better known as Olive Oyl’s guy
seemed nothing more than an affable fishmonger
until he downed spinach to make him stronger
Often Piglet and Winnie the Pooh
head out to the zoo
a slight detour and they come up to a beehive
for sweet honey it sure is worth a dip and a dive
Bugs Bunny:
a cartoon character who was more than just funny.
His way of dealing with rivals was shrewd.
Yosemite Sam always came out worse in their feud.
She is a cartoon
a sketch of her former self
she is a comic
no one sees her anymore
she is older now
opinions have atrophied
an invisible old crone, me.
There was a tiger named Tony
his passion was for tasty macaroni ~
For some obscure reason, the powers that be
decided bowls of frosted flakes it would be
Rolie Polie Olie rolled ‘round the room,
Repairing rickety robots with a boom.
With Zowie zipping,
And screws slipping,
The ruckus rattled the rosy red vacuum!
I love cock-eyed whangdoodle writing
When frogs are croaking and fish are biting
I adore silly missives with cartoon-like stuff
Of child-like fun I simply cannot get enough
Charlie's cartoon characters were afraid
`Cause Caren wants humor in her crusade
Only one person submits
Caren careens and retrofits
Curiously all have it made in the shade
