Bright in colour
A glory of love
Zig-zag edges of the petals
A symbol of life-long worry of a mother
Layers of petals
A symbol of the eternal love of a mother
Carnation Yellow - A Haiku

Limerick : Once the UN wore a carnation
Once the UN wore a carnation
Now in the shade looks like damnation
Halls echo inane talk
House for rent at New York
Is UN ever on vacation ?

Smell
the most
precious
and last sense
to go
Its
lingering
fragrance
vanishing
slow
A
single
carnation
a bright
yellow rose
Through
deafness
and darkness
till death
—wafting so
(The New Room: December, 2023)
The sedate, dreamful morn
is planted in a heteromorphic
carnation.
It is engraved on the sonorous,
red star.
The moon is sowed in a melodious,
delightful route.
An unparalleled felicity fills the
soundless, enchanting rivulet.
"Cherished; Loved,
Parting,
A blue rose bloomed.
Loyalty.
Then it was shattered,
Unfortunately.
On the ground,
Broken.
Swirling pieces,
Changing,
Morphing,
Rejected.
A new flower,
A new meaning.
A Carnation.
Delicate pink rose of Sharon blossom
Lovely as a beautiful carnation
Pretty as a rose in midsummer’s nurturing dew.
I imagine smiles from heaven’s blue.
After he created the likes of you
I imagine the Good Lord felt refreshed and brand new.
Red rose: Eternal love
White Carnation: True friendship
Blue Fiol: Humility and purity

The Live Dream
The striped carnation adorned my room lately,
Yesterday , your promise replaced them
with dark red & white carnations,
and 13 roses.
Just when I thought to smell the flowers,
Your words pierce my soul
Jolting me back to life.
Alas, it is still a dream.

The Sun Shines on Flowers and Humans
the sun rises over the flowers and grasses shine in
beaming down rays of vitamin D heathy for plants and humans
radiant kisses embellish tulips and carnation rising

FOR
I don't know who I am waiting for
Maybe I am waiting for the painter
Who turns the cathartic moon
Into carnation mist of healing
Or maybe I am waiting for the pianist
Whose fingers turn the daunting nights
To midnight seas of delightful dreams
Or maybe I am waiting for a poet
Who will turn me into a poem
With all new beginnings.

In another time I would’ve picked orange lily and carnation
Sprinkled in some white daisy for a resplendent bouquet
Some fresh bagels from your favorite bakery by the station
With those, smiling,I would’ve knocked your door on your b'day
Instead, clichéd notes of wishes, I post on social media today

Contest:'In Another Time' by Ir0nic Zink
AS I SAID BEFORE
Flights of fancy
colour my eye..
A terracotta
speckled sallow
cochineal
in flaxen fallow..
A bluish buff
soft yellow
saffron shadow
upon mallow.
Flights of fancy
colour my eye...
A mosaic gold
ultra marine
on bone black
umber sanguine.
An olive lind
carnation citrine
reddish red
on earth green.
Flights of fancy
colour my eye...
The jealous carnation
observes with piercing eyes,
the action of its rose love
missing...
The all cheeky rose,
much further appreciates
the wanderer hummingbird kiss
than exaggerated jealousy
of the belligerent suitor stud...!
What a creation!
A creature of elation
Gave me a sensation
Of heart palpitation
It ate a carnation
In the midst of lunation
And grew with inflation
For such a duration
That held my fixation
Itself a flotation
Until it's deflation
And sunk for hydration
Spotted like a dalmation
Yet more like a crustacean
That gave me causation
To realize my narration
May only be imagination
The jealous carnation
observes with piercing eyes,
the action of his rival
faker...
The all cheeky rose,
much further Desire enchanted
with the errant kiss of the hummingbird
than exaggerated jealousy
of the belligerent suitor stud...!
ciphers of the unknown * A MIRO EKPHRASIS
red dots,
a frog
blue
coins
a violet fish
in the deep blue
rain falls
breathes
in black
& love with rainbows
spiral down
to caress
blue velvet
where
yellow butterflies
reside
& poppies grow
&a red carnation
bursts
then smiles
at the crescent
moon
a drop of dew
upon the shadow
of a spiders web
brush
the firmament
A silver sliver of crescent moon
slips over the rim of the Earth.
Sol waits, in inky darkness, as Dawn's light
pierces the night at its heart,
announcing His rebirth.
A pink carnation of a sun
blooms on the horizon's east edge.
And a spider's web, freshly spun,
hangs like netting draped on the hedge.
gold butterfly wings
wrapped in a white silken shroud...
life's eaten alive
Pour love everywhere
Veer fairy lilies gently
Thrilling spring’s beauty
Plant white carnation
Daisies are chanting “Holy”
Freeing harmony
Pour love everywhere
Palm branches cuddle lily
Wine is spring’s honey
Plant dwarf gladiolus
A rosy crown is homey
Fairy’s sketch pretty.
