The Ink Stick
. for public domain
Rubbing ink calms the mind
so hairs may glide,
to bequeath
long lasting lines.
Calligraphy, such a joy
Picture letters drawn in inks
Sweet meditation of bliss
Quickly time passes.
wisps of clouds
drawn across blue skies
celestial calligraphy
gracefully etched
i try to read the message

Poetry, the calligraphy of the soul
Offering readers knowledge so deep
Expressing their heart on a scroll
Thoughts to cherish and keep
Shared verse, a joy to reap.
Versed within aureate calligraphy
Each syllable we’d partake
Defined by moments
When our lips would graze
As we lie in the bedsteads
Fashioned by the finest mirth
Born of cultured artistry
life’s tactile musings
swirled in silk calligraphy
artfully adorned
a keyboard’s chattered drone hails
extinction – the soul dipped pen

A calligraphy, a veined post-script
for the rusty sheen of mortality.
Behold the dying and the replenishing,
the glory of the shedding and investing.
All this upon a forest floor.
In four
basic strokes
for all to see-
painted poetry in
sumi
Note:In times past a guest in Japan would receive a sumi(Haiku) 'written' in black on white
calligraphy.The original picture poem indeed!
This is the free and public domain Art Calligraphy version of my new poetic/liturgical translation of the Heart Sutra:

I hope you'll all find it enjoyable!
Let your words pile up
like laundry on the floor;
don't sweep crumbs of thought onto a page
I won't read the letters anymore.
Don't calligraphy your love
hoping I will break;
peel the stamps off your envelopes,
Your letters I won't take.
The tombstone carves itself
When you are ready to embark
On an underground journey
Where your body fades
But your soul survives
Your name is being spelled out
In charming calligraphy
And as the gravestone crafts 2005
You are incapacitated with fatality
Form:
my quill found its soul
it danced on the parchment floor ~
all six sensed its life
... I sense a sharing
one of sincere gratitude ~
gift lift ~ spills my soul
I live when faced down
craft flows a course on parched reeds ~
ink spots ... your presence
Practiced cursive writing
With a dash of calligraphy
Wrote my name on a baseball
Struck out three times that day
Made an error too
Alas the baseball odds are zany
If you succeed but once in three
But if you’re going oh for three
Forget cursive and calligraphy
The brush paints
The brush sweeps
With beautiful strokes
With a traditional art
The brush waves
The brush dances
All with the delight of the fingers
And the sincerity of the heart
It asks for great patience, creativity and perseverance
As Rome is not built in a day

Here is a calligraphy a blue veined script,
on the rusty sheen of mortality.
Life and death are scrawled everywhere,
yet the clear-eyed read eternity:
written in-between these.
There one sees
the cursive messages that God writes
upon all things leaving
or yet to come.
Stars for eyes
Clouds for hair
Skin silky devine
Smile so fare
Energy so kind
Drawing me near
Joy in my mind
You put it there
Are you my muse
Do stay with me
Color my blues
Creamy calligraphy
Clean my heart
Strengthen my mind
Light my start
Path in time
Goddess Devine
1972, Cam Thanh
her envelope is perfumed and fancy
an exquisite calligraphy with a flair
exuberant scrolled letters showing her personality
tiny hearts and stars at return address
Young G.I. leans back and smiles,
remembering his carefree life
before he ended up in this coconut forest
in Viet Nam
Up and down as it overlooks
the open book
freefalling so
but where to go?
Embellish each page, one by one
where words will run,
of written swerves,
artistic curves
By quill that writes an artful verse
I now rehearse
but cannot free
calligraphy

My translation of calligraphy by Ven. Master Chin Kung:
Face difficulty with liberality,
Face hostility with patience,
Steer through scrambles
With leisurely grace and pace,
For peace is found in temperance
And the love of excess speech
Is the root of every calamity!

Holding on tightly-
open to the dreams,
pondering produces pain-
enduring engages entitlement.
Along the way- walls,
novels not yet written-
dying in the corner.
Calligraphy conserving life-
holding on dearly,
a frame for future fragrance-
neither scars nor wounds-
grandeur grants greatness,
especially once hope is found.
In a wild, frantic fairytale
Could you name a character
Whose heart had failed her
In ways that mine has?
With a bitter flame inside my chest,
I pledge I'll never try again.
I plea with grace and decency
With every attempt to flee the scene.
With every attempt to leap into flight.
To let down my white flag,
Stay in and fight.
Deliberating about something cool
Which can varnish a smirk on someone's face
Don't know a bit, if you deem that I'm a fool
But this hand with a pen, grasping commotion for this race
It's hard to conceive this verses
Kind a like I'm in crisis
Stop meditating that this is nonsense
I am just with adoration for this calligraphy that I miss.
Oh, how such calligraphy glints
In the waking sun ‘tis betrayal
Post-ejaculatory nocturne
Such crucifixion of misery
Performs as an aid to impending tragedy
And obliterates the art ‘tis suicide
so that infants be branded with
a mark of amour that is profound
In each and every star lies
a distinct honor undefined
In due time all shall awaken
Arousing armistice
PEARLS OF PERPETUITY
Memorable jaunt, one never to daunt.
Returned very gaunt, yet pearls she doth vaunt.
Pallor didn’t want. Now spectre doth haunt.
Calligraphy font of eccentric aunt.
Executor chaunt - ridiculous flaunt.
Niece struts pearls to taunt - doppelgänger wont.
