Oh, I soooo get this. I used to do calligraphy! The 'exactness' that the calligrapher tries to obtain, correct slant, right pressure, my hand lifting at JUST the right moment... constraint! And yet the flow of the ink, the FEEL of the paper under the nib does seem freeing. And yet EVERY calligrapher knows that (like poetry) nothing penned for art is every completely free. AWESOME.
