In four basic strokes for all to see- painted poetry in sumi Note:In times past a guest in Japan would receive a sumi(Haiku) 'written' in black on white calligraphy.The original picture poem indeed!

Hi Brian, I love calligraphy. A beautiful artform in itself. I am not farmilar with Sumi, but from what you have outlined in your Cinkqu, I surmise it must be 4 basic strokes. I will look this form up. Thank you again for teaching me. Lainie
