The other eight people’s itching was gone in three days.
Her poison ivy welts are oozing, still bright red. 
She is scratching and it has been three weeks.
Here is two dollars I say. Spring for the real Calamine lotion.
She spends it on a soda pop instead....

We once had a doctor called Boole
Who hated to look like a fool.
If his diagnosis was wrong
His face grew so long
It made me feel positively cruel.

When I had a rash on my brain
He thought I was going insane.
But calamine cream
Worked like a dream!
So I shall use it again and again.

Doctors have a difficult time,
When patients won't toe the line.
But we need our own voice
And to make our own choice.
We can't fit into another's design....

hell’s fury
bubbling
itching
break-up.

A Calamine Lotion
restraining order:
no contact
seclusion,
no waiting
by the phone.

Her memory
etched
upon more than a heart
haunts the fields
of our dreams.
