Pretty As a Peacock
I didn't know
some ants had wings
or cicadas burrowed their way
out of the soil
and out of their skin
on their way to become
the big winged creature
who sings....

    burrowed inside a hat;
Desperate for a sweet carrot,

Within sanctimonious dwells

My Blooming Orchid In the Dark
My honeyed lover, unpercieved
inclandestine
a golden whisper swept afield
vanished--in the breeze

Forever: i feel inside
of me, in a most profound part,
miles and miles
burrowed in my heart

You are and always be
my
blooming
orchid in the,dark...

Winter Wry
My heart is a charcoal gray
With silver specks in the sun
Tomorrow is New Year's Day
And this old year, my dear, is done

A bit of moss on the north knoll
The hills of my heart burrowed through
And I'm cramming hope in the holes
Just like the woodpeckers do....

Mystique
Almond promises
round oval drops
dripping song to fall
in neon light

His stares of hope
conflate when she comes
your everyday Cleopatra
cascades lofty

Acorn kisses
hanker sweet footsteps to be
on time
mystique on the commonest day
burrowed deep in the recesses...

Leading Down
To never change a mind that’s closed
or stroke the lion’s mane
With fate embedded, etched in stone
you’re left with what remains
In tunnels dark and burrowed deep
you hide from nature’s wrath
Whose last denial, truth reviled
—reseeds the garden path

(The New Room: July, 2022)...

No Relief
Burrowed and bought, this clan of soldiers
They cast lots to strip Him of His dignity
His crown was made of thistle and thorns
It caused the blood to trickle and bleed
Jesus was silent, do to Him as you will
My Father knows what's best for Me
There was no more relief in sight
As they hung Him from that tree...

Biopsy
B L I N D to the truth I lay
   burrowed from the exam.
      Beneath my skin, in my
         breast lives a large tumor.
By the time the needle
   bubbled in my veins, my
      beauty had d e p a r t e d.

Psychic Freedom
Burrowed deep,
within a physical structure,
a soul exists,
obscure;
locked behind an emotional gate,
desperately seeking the key of fate
that will unlock, releasing this spirit
from the ruins
of despair
onto a journey elsewhere,
soaring free of mental bondage
to that extraordinary place
known
as her own.

Premium Member Away In the Garden
Away in the garden
No plants are ill fed
The soil is perfect
In all the raised beds

The fencing surrounds
All of the plants
But something burrowed
Who invited the ants

There’s chewing and clipping
At night while I rest
Just wait til’ I get
My hands on that pest

I fired the shotgun
To nab me a bun
Don’t mess with my garden
Run rabbit run...

Debt
It was collected with deal
It backfired with glee
Refunding with pain
Casting away the gain
Sweats burrowed the furrows
To move,we borrowed the barrows
The barons gave the limit
The fire cackled in the pit
I am hot from pursue
I'm told I''ll be sued
Who will stand for me?
It is debt!
And I am incepted
And I am shamed
That's what debt does to all....

When Young Men Die
When young men meet with
inexplicably sudden and biting ends,
not the whitewashed passing of those long in the tooth,
     the silver-maned for whom all mourning may expire at death;
that burrowed-under-the-skin ache
where labored breath takes speechless flight
and bids farewell to carefree thought -
that a God of love
carries my heavy heart
seems inadequate in its wake....

Free Air Tomorrow
David J Walker

Is it far from here
He said wondering about
An uncertain future

This time tomorrow
Remains burrowed in
Borrowed time

I have trained my eyes
To see better in the
Lesser light of dusk

There is nothing good that
You try to sell me should
Why tell me what I’m missing

It is understood that
Tomorrow never comes but
Not for the lack of dying...

The Muse
Cherry lips pursed in front of the microphone she calls me
She strikes the ivory like a deranged goddess
The first time I fell in love
It was with a melody
Rapturous the fever burrowed under my skin
I understood how fast a fire could spread sparks flew from the moans escaping her throat
What wild lust was this
Lost in her song
Delirious me drowning in delight
The sultry siren beckoned
And I followed
...

Faithful
on a spring day a year ago
on a day that was clear and cold
I met a lover with a heart of gold
he touched my heart, burrowed into my soul

a year in which we both have learned
each question answered, each concern
surprise around each and every turn
while the passion continues to burn

times of happiness, times of pain
always faithful you remain
gold was struck in this deep vein
sun always shining after the rain...

Ocean of Love
Like nothing I've ever seen before
Your eyes I have fallen for.
Drowning in your love.
Barely keeping my head above.
Emerse me in your smile
Treat me to heaven for just awhile.
Deep in your eyes so true.
My eyes lock on photos of you.
Swim into my mind.
As I feel our souls will bind.
Burrowed into my heart.
Nothing could keep us apart.
Fall asleep now lets meet in your dreams.
My version of heaven that's how it seems....

connected
Lay your feet in strawberry stream
feel the seeds red and green
Rushing flowing through outer space
Together bathed one sun one place
Burrowed tunneled between the worlds
Return to onesness is unfurled
In the shoot slide twirling smoothly
Eye's resting keep us moving
Journey destination all the same
feel you begin on astral planes
Inate nature pure untouched
Angelic inate cosmic dust

We are home
Time stood still
Silence sparkles...

Nonsense and Lies
The clouds howled silently,
In vivid layers of orange, green and blue,
The sun rose during the evening and the moon bid the night adieu.
The blue grass swept across the sky,
Whilst the birds burrowed into the ground,
The rabbits and foxes skipped off together,
And flew into their nests and drowned.
Across the earth the waves did soar,
And crashed into the seas above,
This world is just a little place,
Filled with nothing but kindness and love....

The Fly
The fly

Mother had gone to work
I, a precautious child, was ill and at home.
By the window I caught a fly
pulled its wings off to see how long it would survive.
It didn´t.
Overcome by guilt I burrowed it in a pot plant.
When mother came home, I told her,
I think I wanted to be punished for my sin
she said nothing.
It is easy to love a new-born lamb or a cute kitten
but all life is here for a reason.
It is unsightly life that tests us as human beings....

My Hollow
Caverns of emptiness echo within Carved by emotions that reside inside Burrowed to the depth of immoral sin Where it feels like nothing went there and died The well of sorrow where tear drops are dried The hunger for something vibrates in pain Being the only one thing to remain Breathing from the darkness of my hollow Where sanity becomes partly insane Wishing that this void leaves me tomorrow
