Worker Bee

Spring's warming of the breeze
And the greening of the trees,
There's a settling in the hive
To the soft whispering of bees.

A burrowed beetle 'comes alive
To sate stomach's hunger drive,
While a newly structured nest
Assures us that the birds survive.

Yet there's no more time to rest.
Worker bees will start their quest,
While life settles in the hive,
Bees will bring back nectar's best.

God was kind to me these days, even though I had four days without electricity. Love your poem. Peaceful and full of imagery.

Yes, bees have energy in spring, just in time for blooming flowers. I enjoy seeing/hearing them. Thank you for your comment.

Worker bees never take rest until they bring enough nectar to their hive. They are synonyms of hard work and perseverance. Enjoyed your rhyming poem, dear Hilda.

Thank you. It's true that bees work very hard. In truth, I often feel sorry for them.

This is a well written, excellently rhymed & imagery ripe poem - ENJOYED. Personally, one bee sting and I'm in the hospital but that doesn't mitigate anything in your poem. Don't know why I threw that out there, maybe because it's ironic for me to find beauty/joy in a bee poem when I only find fear in their presence. I dunno.

Then stay away from bees. Thank you for liking my poem. I haven't written much lately. I have to get busy. Lol.

I liked this poem so much. It reminded me of the saying, "You're as busy as a bee." As I get older I appreciate nature more and quiet surroundings, how about you? Bees are so interesting. The queen bee and her worker bees, so similar to a business with a boss at the helm. So lucky are we to enjoy their honey with tea, blessing. Bees don't bother, unless you bother them or smell sweet. Fuzzy fury, busy bees. What a cute poem. so sweet and true.

I'm glad that this poem made you happy. May bees always be with us. May their honey provide nourishment. They are a treasure. (And their feet are clean).

I always pray for the animals. I will pray that the bees are safe, or that if it's cold, they will shelter under an eave. Thank you for reading my poem. I'm waiting for another epiphany.
