Look At Me

I will lie down in your hearts.
My death will be your awakening.
Beseeching every smile,
I'll stay longer than awhile.
Amalgamated into morning,
I wrench every life I touch,
Brutalized with love.
Who would have it any other way?

I Don'T Know Why

I fell down...I don't know why.
I don't know why I still fight or why I'm still alive.
So many times I've been brutalized and beaten to a pulp but I always stand back up.
How foolish am I?

Inspired by chamonique knowles' "re-construction"

Christian moral compass

If you don't want it to be taught how America brutalized the American Indian,
and you don't want it to be taught how America brutalized the enslaved black,
don't talk to me about your Christian moral compass,
because a Christian moral compass is something that you lack.

A Crouching Stance

It was an outrage.
The weaver on the
loom was brutalized.

A design was raped.
The color screams,
I want to live.

Septicaemia spreads.
Time to be ashamed,
when your gut was removed.

The salt hurts on
the bitten lips. A
genome falters.

Let me try to define-
who we are; and
where we are going.

The Usual Mistake

brutalized senseless happenstance
 with a corkscrew conscience
 full of cheap wine.

 daylight rammeses unraveling the
sheets in the morning.

three bottles tipped sideways lieing
 against the alarm clock.

 such a strange cracked nautilus,
 my eyes flushed with water
  in a cheap sink.

but i will spare the stranger in my skin.

live until it becomes all to usual.

Garden of Agony In Alliteration

Gorgeous green garden
Filled with fantastic flowers
Three tremendous trees
Tall enough to hide tormented towers

There dwells a dark demolisher
In this garden, green with grief
Suffocating me in senseless sorrow
Being brutalized, my breath becomes brief

You might see many marvelous plants
But these plants grow a poisonous pain
Vomiting very venomous fumes
As agony fills me up again

Mow the Lawn

I'm floating right below the water
And you are trimming my feet and my head
So it'd be easier for me to collapse
Like you'd mow the lawn every week

I was 5 and in your bed and mostly scared
They'd been trimming my arms and my voice
As I was floating underneath the water

They want me to take brutalized limbs then march
But I'm floating right below the water, most of the time

Realities Cruelest Lesson

Stuck in an abyss of emotions
That nobody else can compare
The way that life presents itself
Is furthest from the truth
But I numb myself
To not care
Lies after lies
Off the tongue
They leak
So sweet
Meanwhile it's my heart
That get brutalized
By a loyalty
That none can see.
Times reveals the cruelest lesson
The outcome
Of sow and reap
Heaven only knows the answer
So in my heart
I keep closed
In my heart
I sit and weep

Resistance

In true-spirited
Resistance
the heart remains sweet
soft and pliable,
a fruit of all seasons.

But the mind turns inward
and ties itself into a knot
sits in motionless silence
like a bolted statue.

No marching down
streets like remote controlled
mannequins,
chanting soulful mantras
with rugged voices.
-That births no change.

We envision a brutalized mule
refusing to sip
at the stream
because it knows
to live is to die
and we become.

The Fall

The signs all read south
Beneath a cannibal
Who shoots off at the mouth

Suffocate in silence
Because none bear witness
To the voracious violence

Entombed in innocence
We were the last to believe
Even amid such insolence

Eight years erased
With glee by a tyrant
Leaving a legacy defaced

The bald eagle has broken wings
No longer able to take flight
And Uncle Sam solemnly sings

But anything that shall rise
Will one day fall
An American Dream left brutalized

The Wax Palace

You were half-crazy
saving little buds
brutalized by storm
in a yawning night.

The ugly silver of a fringe
group becomes intentionally
a hate cult, developing
an epicenter for stripping

to devastate a religion. The
ghosts are walking in the
corridors of mirrored crimes.
There is a creeping sadness in the golden lock.

The blood craft brings obscene
inheritance. You hide the script of
murder in a wheel chair. Things have
not remained things. There is smoke all around.
