The Fall

The signs all read south Beneath a cannibal Who shoots off at the mouth Suffocate in silence Because none bear witness To the voracious violence Entombed in innocence We were the last to believe Even amid such insolence Eight years erased With glee by a tyrant Leaving a legacy defaced The bald eagle has broken wings No longer able to take flight And Uncle Sam solemnly sings But anything that shall rise Will one day fall An American Dream left brutalized
