High Fever

fire brigade siren shrieks in the town
fire raging in my heart
pray, a shower of rain.

Premium Member Crab Brigade

crickle crackle stamp stamp stamp
tiny corpulent marchers track up the sand
crickle crackle wow wow wow
I stand back, watching them come
pincher alert

This Bunsen Burner

My partner is Bunsen burner
hot in the kitchen
hotter in the living room
hottest in the bedroom
This sweaty life I live

Fire brigade nowhere to find

The Beat Goes On

in delicate song
the beat goes on
sought an army from beyond
their lies the fawn

in a brigade of song
torn
to the isle of let it flow
there's something you ought to know

Tulip Brigade
Dutch bulbs
Proudly lead the spring parade
Amid charming, twirling windmills
Imperative highlight of Neverlands
Among cobweb-free brick homes
Forward march please

Premium Member Let Me Shimmer

Cover me in diamond dust; I will shimmer bright. I no longer wish to be marching in the invisible brigade; I wish to march in future in big and bright parades. Let me be a light.

Men Who Sing Out Loud

lightning bolts
from
the
charge of
the
light brigade
march
through
the
clouds
strike the
hearts of men
who
sing out loud
thy
kingdom come
and
thy
will be done
for
of
the
men
who sing out loud

Premium Member Don'T Follow the Brigade For Too Long

Don't follow the brigade for too long.
Trust your better ways!
And not the ones frozen in the ground.
The ones you can barely catch.
Enliven those around you.
And when their glow doth wither,
Throw a pancake in their face.

The Minstrel Years

fought back those sullen tears
brow to big
to get ahead of the plan
the wandering hand

in the brigade of man
a happy tune loosed in June
the pull of my heart
to light the spark

a mellow choice
to ask the world to rejoice

Premium Member Polar Bear Brigade

Polar Bear Brigade manned their enormous 747 airplane.
They jumped in their warships and they sailed past Maine.
They were ready to take on congress or the prez or the police.
Their ice floats are melting! This is a travesty to say the least!

Premium Member Smile Brigade

On Dad’s 75th, instead of singing,
we recited cadence.
On the video from 9 years prior,
Dad points out Mom’s huge smile
and I point out his.
I see his family line all likewise grinning,
joining in the smile brigade
from heaven’s open window.

Gold Fish Orange Twining

Passion fish and apple dots and gold stamps kissing mountain tops.
Wood deserts and cat tail suits and flowers licking parachutes.
Marble caves and lemonade, I think I'll join the light brigade.
Candle mice are twice as nice as gold fish orange twining.

Help!

Karma Sutra the book that I got
since our love life was not very hot
arms and legs interweaved
but the Fire Brigade leave
since they're no good at untying knots!

Last Year

selling the story
the goblin laughs at his sophomore effort
last year was rich
this year sweat shrouded the air
it was verscal in its effect

Do we still believe in dreams
as the sun shines daily
fortune most fugit
the autumn brigade has began

Premium Member Breezing In On Angel Wings

Breezing in on angel wings
With a prayer still lingering in the air
The faerie brigade surrounded the child’s bed
Cancer? Someone asked. The others nodded.
They sent her life and love.
They lifted her up and they stole her away
With gentleness only angels and faeries have.

In Untertain Times

we are living in uncertain times
a fair weather friend a nursery rhyme
eye taunt to the fabric of the lens
let's learn to depend

history tends to repeat itself
left us wandering in a swift brigade
soft parade
in uncertain times

columns of fire
quenched for your burden of desire

Premium Member We Are Crisp Green Vines

We are crisp green vines looping and curling
Beautifying the dark red brick buildings
Of universities, decorating churches

Gardners revel in our natural sharpness
Adorning planters, baskets and planters
Bringing verdant green plant to life

We are the ivy brigade
Prancing our purity and freshness
In spring and summer

fire-brigade
to
curb

met
sharply
on
my
way
to

panhandling

Me Before I Found Myself

I cannot forsee
outside of me
I'm explaining why I am not free

This tight brigade
is of lovely jade
could this be where I am made

It is a nest
for me to rest
so I can grow and be my best

Then I shall emerge
oh what a surge
I can show off if I have the urge

For this is me
a true beauty
for that is what I am to be

Premium Member I Am Afraid of Them Too

prancing across my desk
a parade of venomous snakes
what are they running from
I see nothing but cotton balls, scissors, sanitizer and paper clips.
When the smoke clears there is a brigade of antique porcelain dolls.
With those weird looking glass eyes, and those frightening stares.
“I am afraid of them too,” I confide to the vipers.

A Worm

There is a worm
does not live in soil
bowl of animals it lives not
it cannot be in a cage
left loose, free to roam
it eats big bulls
even lions it chews quickly
elephants are too small
plantations collapse at a strike
whole nation it destroys
de-worming tablets are nothing
they make it fatter, tougher
fire brigade is only solution

Leave Me In Vermont

tired and fickle I'm with arm and sickle
lone embrace toward the one with sickle
Easter is one brigade having it made
pardon me as we disagree
shadows in the shining morn
burned out bridges ever more

the hills and valleys ever more
what's true of you maybe not good for me
those rolling hills leaves turned green
very often in my dream
art

Juxtaposed Coast

Fabricated coast, they arranged a brigade
Aggregated to oppose, braving the waves
Saturated stones, awaiting decay
Exaggerated to juxtapose,
The real contained by the fake.

Professing control, they replaced the coast
Repressing the flow, sustained only to erode
Acquiescing the blows, an unstable repose
Depressing the both, the wave and the stone.
