A poem's a precious gift
for those who value thrift
A treasure of pith and brevity ~
respite from volumes' longevity
There was a man named Chaplin,
early films he did make happen.
To the world it was just right
that his bum was black and white!
branches bend in the wind
leaves flutter a frantic wave
petals curl into themselves
while the intricate web
holds it all together
For billions of years
I did not exist.
Then I existed
for a little while.
Soon I will return
to not existing
for the rest of time.
In brevity of time
God aroused my soul aside.
While enraptured in this moment,
Deity, had so rapidly,
Stripped away my sinful pride.
Even when measured by
Standards of eternity,
Embraced with mortality,
And beset by brevity,
Life is no less a
Treasured gift.
