Through iambic pentameter I sing!
Without thee nary a poem I'd put down.
Break the ice? In a pickle? No such thing.
Had not found a home in this word town. 
  
Yet not all that glitters is syllabic.
And perhaps not all the world's a stanza.
To be pentameter of the iambic
Or not to be? What a real bonanza!
  
The world is your gooey lump in a shell.
Join the wild goose chase or move to Carmel.

We are meant to break the ice of hibernation. 

Each year as spring begins. 

All winter was a trance.

Which kept me warm, but also unimaginative. 

Now, I am uninhibited. 

Spring is, at first, an interruption. 

But eventually it becomes all encompassing. 

Leaves that are elegant. 

That flatter the stoic branches. 

Hope that was once obscure. 

During that winter that used to protect us all....

I saw you today
waiting in the hallway
and you didn't even
acknowledge my presence

I decided to break the ice
which seemed to have grown over
while you were away

So I said hi
with a bright cheerful smile
you mumbled something
looked at your shoes
and walked away

And now I'm standing
alone in the empty hall
watching you with
your back to me
walking away

Leaving me
one-hundred percent

i want to be a hero
we want to break the ice
so we become a combined source of warmth

she wants to join the others
i want to be myself
we want to soothe the modern melancholy
so we become a combined clear road steadily pacing

she wants the gentlest of peacefulness

we want to alter our everyday drab direction
so we become a divine deluge masterfully creating a bonded river of change...

I meander about the town
Not trying to refine anything
Just spreading my life around

Just looking for conversation
I smile to break the ice
For me that’s how it flows
I wander around in life

No path to trace me from
Or course to follow me from
I listen talk and laugh about
Anything that might become

Yes I’m a wanderer by design
And of course I drift away
I guess one day I’ll hang a sign
“Done wandering here to stay”...

Penguin was embarrassed because he had fallen through the ice.
He had not done it only one time, he had done it thrice.
Anchorage Alaskan penguins cheered and yelled “one more time!”
He became a hero of sorts, so he felt a bit more sublime.

Now on a roll, he decided to try to break the ice.
He jumped on it hard, but it was as solid as blackjack dice.
He tried again, and the other penguins cheered him on.
Not embarrassed now, he began skating on the pond....

 i gave the verdict she was hot
her love would keep me warm for life i thought
but never judge a book by its cover that i was taught

Now she is gone i guess that was summer love
am all alone freezing in loneliness
i will call this winter break because
a mere thought of her sends a could shiver down my spine

let me break the ice am over her
and am still a cool guy
am jumping up and down in jubilation
and i will call this spring time...

Her hands appeared empty at my first glance
I walked in her direction for a look
A little bit shy but I took a chance
I then noticed she was holding a book
When she looked in my eyes my insides shook

I gathered my courage to say hello
Would she talk to me I really hoped so
I was so thankful she treated me nice
Her mannerisms were easy and slow
Seeing that book helped me to break the ice
