Gifts Inside the Boxes

Have a blessed birthday, dear Kaye,
There are gifts inside the boxes;
The fine food set out in buffet
Is for everyone to access.

We Are Boxes of Matches

We are boxes of matches,
Some crammed with chances,
Some rattle th last few,
Some too chafed to spark a new flame,
Some crumbled with th rain,

My last matchstick,
I want to strike it for you.

Two Boxes

Male
Female
Two boxes And I fit neither one.
Are you a Girl Boy
Even games demand an answer. I can't be a
Man Woman
Both would be a lie

Little Black Boxes Iv

These objects are my blood and bone

they gather in my dark history a voyage

through turbulent sea and tyrannical lands

I hide ornate things as all resonate in time

echoing in my little black boxes…

Boxes With Life

its boxing ring
you must sing
and do your thing
see what it brings
to make it work
some it hurt
but you move grove
and shift to get a lift
to stay a flow be the show
fight fight that right thats right

Wooden Boxes

There is a box,
out there,
for me,
from unknown land,
and unknown tree.

'Til quietus reached,
we
will
not
fasten.

But I know,
one day,
you
will
hold
me,
with all the intimacy of a long lost friend.

No! Mom's numbered boxes! All night we spend
Digging through papered names Red, Other, Mend
We find lights, but they aren't right
          missing the Blue Silver White
Santa yawns, says, “Oh man, this house again!”

philosophy facts...
start with something quite simple...
something worth saying...

...a barber shaves beards

...no barber exists...

The Boxes

Crackerbox and Chatterbox
Walk together down the street
Chatter talking endlessly
Cracker undeterred
She wonders if he listens
when for a breath she'll pause
It's only for a moment she doesn't really care
She asked him once just where he was
He said she drove him there

Premium Member Boxes of Brains

We are encouraged to think outside the box;
Unfortunately, outside is the unknown.
The brave swap their box for a much bigger one,
However wise or well educated we think we are,
The package you have chosen will become too small.
And come to the realization,
That all strong boxes have lids.

Hibernation of Christmas

Festive firs are tumbling
bare of coloured glory.
Needles and fronds carpet
halls grey with silence;
carolling a distant joy.
Gifts rest in hibernation;
wingèd figurines lie swathed
beneath a glittered duvet
of prized iridescent tissues
adorning a winter casket
keeper of twelve days
festooned in priceless reverie.

Little boxes

Life seems like something huge
Indescribable in the world
Till you have to pack it up
Till you are told fit everything in a few
Little boxes
Everything must go they say

But when putting everything in
One life seems not so big anymore
Xenolithic the best way to describe
Everything in a life all you know
Stuffed in just a few little boxes

Premium Member Boxes

Each box holds its secret.
Old memories, dreams that died.
The sum of every promise-
the dividends and sighs.

Paper, cloth, and pottery-
a postscript of our prime.
Wrapped in yellow newsprint-
the passing of our time.

Clutter from our passions
lay there dead in place.
While ties among the living
die somewhere else in space.

Boxes

Each house is a granite word
constructed
to be locked inside
a paper mountain.

Road-rivers curl
and bend around them.
Cars swim in and out.
Voyagers sleep
to raise the living.

Some windows are empty,
some display depletions
by how much is shown.

It would be good
to live in a village in the woods
that no one has named,
or built to be a word
nobody needs.

Premium Member Irene Boxes Up her Mess

Irene boxed it all up and took it outside.
There were five thousand one hundred and twenty-five boxes.
If you sort one box every day, you will have this sorted in no time.

Irene was a mathematician.
She divided it out.
If she sorted one box a day
It would take her fourteen years to sort it all out.

She went back inside and got a match.
The fire burned for three days
