frosty winds whispered
   warning to early blossoms
      your time has not come
         stay hidden until bidden
winter still rules in the glen

Trumpets blared from orifices hidden
Awaiting his doom, the prince was bidden
To enter the dark hole of all things unknown
Suppressing a shriek, he unplugged his phone

This is our front (some say bureaucracy)
You must behave professionally
Do as you're bidden and keep the folks in charge well hidden from inquiry.
Above all, please remember
competency is
forbidden.

Thirty-Three

Man, how lucky can
We be
That JESUS stepped-
up, at thirty-three
To set Us of Our sins,
finally free
Dating back, to the For-
bidden Tree
Like a Soldier, he went
to Mt. Calvary
And, gave his Life, for
You and Me
So, Heaven, would be
Ours, for all Eternity

Thumper

Thumper, thumper
Everything you think
can be read on a bumper
Judge not,
as you are bidden
Grudge YES,
inside you will be hidden.
Beliefs of mankind
are not for you to tend
Keep your false ideals inside
Bury your head
in the sands of pretend.

Values In Life 1

Life is full of fun;
But without batten
Of values beacon
Life will be just a hun.
If you want in life won
Approx values bidden –
Not money, values one
Can lead to success done.
Difference between bison
And you is not a billion
But values based action.
It sets your steps begun
From beast to a good human.

Premium Member Hide and Seek

In the self conjured game of hide & seek
With impish delight we take a sneak peek
We know beforehand where He is hidden
Yet for fun we pretend to do as bidden
Both recognise the harmless subterfuge
Fusing in the heart where He takes refuge
Each pulse a flow of union & separation
Rapturous bliss in an unending explosion

HIDE AND SEEK

HIDE AND SEEK

Love can be discreet
Sometimes even neat
Feeling the heart beat
Often disguising
The passion rising
But there is more yet
By being adept
With a secret kept

The face is glowing
And all are knowing
When love is showing
Not always hidden
Nor overridden
When it is bidden
And recognising
It’s not surprising

Premium Member Bidden the Hidden

Introverts sometimes do more’n,
Superman, Wonder Woman, or Thor can.
Listening to a quiet “Who?”, allowed Horton,
To unfurl a world and save the forlorn.
Great spaces lie on the bottom sans horn,
Awaiting an ear to discover the unborn.
In quiet ponder questions that try to learn,
Before time replaces old with modern,
Each day an opportunity to yearn or mourn.
Tease out the hidden that loud noises scorn.

Premium Member Earth's Prettiest Scene

Sweet sun sneaks up on Holy One’s majestic view.
The bald eagle flies swiftly, brings God’s fantastic clue.
Waterfall flows in glorious fascination.
Cool mountain stream glows for every generation.

Delighted earth smiles on her prettiest scene well-hidden.
Across cosmic miles, many angels come, knowing they are bidden.

Heavenly hope rises swiftly with this angelic view.
Optimism personified, wonder and awe too.

Premium Member Bouncing Back

Bouncing back, I’m brought from boastfulness’ break-down… ...braced up by God, the life-Builder blessed with His bounty, bidden to brighten others with His beauty’s* bliss.

Premium Member Pssst Can You Keep a Secret

Pssst, Can You Keep a Secret? Written: by Tom Wright 6/21/2018 Thoughts are owned, but upon becoming words are shared, And secrets quickly disappear when a tongue is impaired. Secrets cease to exist when more than one person knows, For each have best friends and your secret they’ll disclose. If we’ve confided in a friend just because we were bidden, The cats out of the bag and our secret no more hidden;

ADAM AND EVE

In Eden when Adam meet Eve
He said, “You are nude I perceive”
A bit of a madam,
She offered to Adam
A bite of a juicy James Grieve

He knew the fruit was forbidden
And said their bits should be hidden.
But she said, “I insist,”
And, too weak to resist,
Adam did what he was bidden

There’s a moral, you might have guessed,
For God really was not impressed.
So the moral for me,
And I’m sure you’ll agree,
Is women don’t always know best
sin

Premium Member As You Wake

Beyond the pale streaked sky of dawn
the dreams of last night lie hidden,
tenuous, fading, faint and fragile,
refusing to reappear when bidden.

Beyond the pale dawn, dreams are stored,
closed to the waking, muddled mind,
lost or hidden, shrouded in mist
except for the fragments you can find.

Beyond the pale dawn, dreams which you seek
elude you. Moments you would retain
hide in the tangles of wakening but
beyond the pale sky, the dreams remain.

The Snow-Shower

The sky is scattered and fallen down,
The earth is no more brown,
Winter has bidden goodbye to the fall,
Snow flakes have woven the white gown.

Very soon they have started to crawl,
On the bare trees standing tall,
With Christmas trees, when they abide
Each looked like a cotton candy ball.

With stored food, having feasted inside,
In their nests, the squirrels like to hide.
Sun is too mild to spread the warmth,
Earth is dressed like a wedding bride

Stairway To Heaven

“Stairway to Heaven”

If my tears were a stairway leading
back to you; and our memories a key that would open Heaven’s gate;

Would it be like it was before? Would we laugh together again like before; Would
we share the unspoken dreams of yesterday;

The unspoken “I Love You's” would be heard;

I’d thank you for the memories we created;

Only God knows why it was your time to go;

no farewells were bidden for you gone before we knew and only God knows why.

Memorial Day

Cedarville, Route 29, we drive
these country roads reckless
as late spring, stopping
where farm folks sell iris cheap
in extravagant colors – Redwing,
Tollgate, Lavender Exchange –
from fields like the ones
our young dogs love to run.

Triangle Crossroads, Hayfork
Junction. We stuff the trunk
with bags of hunched brown hope.
Back home, tubers dig down
to where we’ve planted
the old dogs,

the ones who used to come
when bidden, and now,
as if commanded, stay.

Premium Member Spiritual Gem Inside Me

Within my heart, I carry a gem A compass that continually guides me Through storms that rattle My light doesn't dim During stillness' healing, I'm set free At these times, I know There is a gem hidden Inside us all Unless it isn't bidden Does a spark linger there A spiritual gem abiding Waiting to be unearthed To illuminate all dark paths Both near and far away In quiet or in noise In every breath we take The gem waits and waits

THE CRACK

We were born in the crack of an egg
fragile and empty
with a whip of thunder
and tongues of fire
tasting the earth.
We were born with a gram of cry
and several stretches,
wrapped in cloth like caterpillars
and waiting for our wings...
We keep our shells
as a reminder of
how far we have come
and how fragile our cradle is.
We were born in a crack and
 a crack, we shall return.
They welcome us in cloth and
 cloth we are bidden farewell.
Just one of us shall get their wings.
