your hand not tipped
playing your cards close to your chest
stoic, no twitches or tremors
never betraying
what you hold
I lay down the queen of hearts
Tiger Woods won the Masters
Rescued his career from ruin and disaster
The boos have turned to cheers; forgotten are the years
Of betraying his wife, destroying his family's life
He loved me til the end
And called me friend.
For 30 pieces of silver,
I plotted his death.
He put water in a basin,
And lovingly washed my feet.
I chose to take my life
After betraying him with a kiss.
be authentic
be true
to the song
playing in your heart
there is no need
to contract consciousness
by betraying the muse
reverberating within
imitation as flattery
scars the soul
recognise and celebrate
your uniqueness
BIPOLAR
Buoyant joyful spirits
but a garb, tormented
binary mind, prey to
betraying, grave mood swings.
Brazeness doth give way
brusquely to despondence;
blues to sadly, hold sway.

If betraying Jesus, Judas had hope!
If Peter dared to avoid Judas-rope!
If Rome and Judah ever knew Jesus!
If all loved him for no selfish wishes!
If Good Friday a day that's very good!
If Risen Lord before each of us stood!

ABUSE
Aiming anger at another to harm them,
Betraying the trust of another to belittle them.
Use of control in a negative way for personal gain,
Satisfying self by inflicting pain on another.
Erasing your own happiness by robbing one of theirs.
The news of the day
overwhelmed me, ok
The POTUS stepped down
to restore his crown –
To be remembered as a savior
though in truth he did labor
to dodge arrows of contempt and disgust
betraying a nation’s trust
Brow furrows.
Hand shakes.
Stay inside,
a strict voice says.
No breaks allowed.
Yet uncalled
they slip slide down
unbidden,
creep out the corners,
wet the lash,
drip the cheek.
Oh dear dear
Another soul leak,
My eyes betraying me
again.
Defect
Crushed cracked
Smashing snapping shattering
To live the life you want, leave the life that's broken
Betraying forsaking abandoning
Disloyal turncoat
Defect
Brother Mine
The pain so graven
Man betraying man
Emotions fly to intercept
And save a failing heart
Not important, not essential
Try; try to push the knowing down
to places not visited.
To forgive? To overlook, to salvage..
Essential for survival.
But not forgotten.
Velvety touch to your
Angelic face
Lights up my days
Each and every ounce of a second
Next to you
Time preciously pauses for my
Intense look into your charming eyes that
Never seems to stop betraying
Everlasting and burning love
Shared between us.
Pandering both sides against the middle,
duplicity won the day
To neither stand nor then be chased,
the coward has his way
Stealing the peace, betraying the war,
to live is then to die
The one from the many, the many now lost
—shame the binding tie

there is a clown in every political house
he who denies the climate crisis
and calls it a "hoax"
there is a clown in every political house
presenting his circus show
to please his own kind
there is a clown in every political house
who loves to be at balls and parties
thus betraying his own nation
The night knows all the lovers dreams
searching for a sign from all the stars,
just to express their love to you.
My silly heart showed all it’s scars.
And you pretending not to care,
while your face betraying how you feel.
My heart now begging to be loved,
just to show you it does not conceal.
My covetous nature
Has left you in a state of perturbation
Betraying my diffident manner
As if I have been possessed
Maybe I am
For what agitates you
Torments me endlessly
Like a ghostly presence roaming the earth
In search of peace
I will never find it
Because jealousy is my master
That rules over me
(F)ully trusting others
(R)eaching them with care
(I)nviting them into your life
(E)ncouraging their strengths
(N)ever betraying them
(D)oing what you enjoy together
(S)acrifice and willingly giving
(H)aving fun, building memories
(I)n time to remember with laughter
(P)ositive energy to last forever

Such hideous tyranny,
My eyes, betraying my essence-
Two lone tears gather and fall
down the sides of my face.
Voice cracking, Jazz notes.
My skin, so full of secrets
Buried, crowbar wrenching it open
Desolation, in spite of myself
So, so, stupid
so, so, alive
so unbelievably, unimaginably, unfeasibly,
existing.
All the time.
Icy black silk, but no, not quite
More on like a sinuous pupil
Deep and cool
Betraying only its surface
Slipping between banks of ivory cream
Frothy, bubbling pearls hang from its lips
And tiny tawny soldiers from ivory stand
In sweeping magnificence
So calm and stony
One flowing sheet of inky ebony
Strikingly beautiful and proud
Sorry for being at my job,
While you were at the party,
Sorry for thinking of you,
When you were forgetting about me.
Sorry for trusting your heart,
While you were betraying mine.
Sorry for following you,
While you and him stopped to dine.
Sorry for the scene,
What was his name?
It really doesn’t matter,
I was the blame...
Confined like a caged animal
Perpetually encased in lead flesh
No longer entrusted to freedom
Faith turned bitter with rebuke
Hatred overwhelming curiosity’s innocence
Power betraying underlying greed
Eternally ruining peace’s realm
Endless shadows formed under serpentine chaos
Repeating continuously into the dark
Forever at a battle with light
Form:
I talk to the trees because they never talk back. Such gracious confidants they are, so non-judgmental; never condemning or criticizing. Of course, I do realize they talk among themselves; still they keep my secrets. That’s one of the many duties of trees.
Trees in a forest;
Silent sentinels never
Betraying one’s trust.
Your job shall be on the line
And, sure, Agatha’s and mine,
If on our salad our customers dine
And taste our wine
But fail to feel fine
This betraying with faces frozen
And a wish another hotel had chosen
The looks of one served oceanic brine
Eyes with contemplated murder shine …
So, over that we won’t pine
You do for a stitch in time that saves nine.
