Glaring Absence
there used to be a beachfront cottage

out there near an old yacht's wreckage,

                                   absence glaring

                                    in the mooring

Premium Member she had fried her face
Lee had fried her face
She had fried her hair
Sitting in the sun
Outside her beachfront lair

She was all spotted now
Her skin was mottled and wrinkled.
Her face was splotchy like a cow
Her neck was hard and crinkled

You fried your face!

Beachfront Town
Poet: Ken Jordan
Poem: Beachfront Town
Edited by: Sparkle Jordan
written: July/2012

Spain,
England,

that line
the hillsides -

I've seen
the river
Nile -

I've even
crossed over
the English
Channel,

and lived
in Germany
for a while -

But,
there's
no place
I've ever been
that
makes
me feel
like
Venice -

A California
beachfront
town -...

My Red Converse and You
When I am gone from this world
I will leave you in my will
my size eight pair of red Converse high tops
for you to keep and wear in memory of me
along with the black ones and pink ones
residing in my closet too
you always love when I wear them
with my blue jeans, green t-shirt and Nike socks
every time we take a stroll together on the beachfront
creating enormous footprints in the sand
and when I am beating you in games
of one on one basketball on the park...
