a perfect ending
chickens pecking in the backyard
tenderize the already bucolic air
... the poet is already poetizing...
Tiny green baubles appear and will grow.
Tasty sugar pears await,
But, squirrels steal them all!

Heap
of leaves,
fluttering.
There is no rain
to restrain their act.
Blustery winds
animate;
backyard
drift.

sunny spot
with dancing shadows

Splendid vision of heaven...

IN MY OWN BACKYARD
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I travel from world to world
in my own backyard
to me its heaavenly
our
BACKYARD TREE
And if they searched your backyard
How many ghosts theyd find
Desperate, cold and lonely souls
How many hearts like mine.
nests in barren trees
emit rowdy chattering ~
Ripples
All the ripples in the
bird baths in the
backyard disagree the juicers should
become toilets for
foxes and the
rare ferrets.
Listen to poem:
I once tried hopscotch in reverse,
Backwards it went from bad to worse.
My hop was scotched,
My stone was botched,
I fell head over heels adverse!
African wild cat
crouched in backyard grass
my cat stalks neighbor's chicken
neighbor throws a rock
Now I know I aint got much
Not a Bible to believe In
Now my only cars a truck
That I also use to sleep in
Cause' this truck is all I got
My backyard is a parking lot
After booking for a consul-tation,
The doctor prescribed medi-cation,
But when I stood on a rake,
Then stepped back on a snake;
That’s what cured my consti-pation.
Apples from the backyard tree
Sliced thin and sugared
Cinnamon, nutmeg, butter
Pile in tender crust
Bake 'till golden brown
A la mode
Mom!
as I poured some wine
hummingbirds sipped from the blooms...
happy-hour time
Backyard hopscotch
One, two, three
Pick up the coloured stone
Hop to one knee
Toss up the speckled rock
Four, Five, six
Twist on the vibrant chalk
And cast another mix
Web of excitement
Ghosts that follow you around
And pumpkins are carved
With trees spreading in moonlight
Monsters play in your backyard
