My Wild African Cat

strong mighty hunter
of my neighbours last chicken
African wild cat

crouched in backyard grass
my cat stalks neighbor's chicken
neighbor throws a rock

Whoa!! I hope the cat is okay as well as the chicken. Domesticated cats amaze me with their hunting skills. I don't have one now, but I have had them in the past and they are so good at catching chipmunks, squirrels, and mice. Thanks for sharing this one with us. Sara K

Lol. Cat was a sweetheart and the chicken were unharmed. He used to lie in the grass stalking and then jump the chicken then run away

Engaging poetry, Marugu. Well written with great imagery. Cat will be cats; I watch the neighbor's cat stalking birds sometimes. She can be very quiet and move so smoothly and slow, then ponce. I've never seen her miss. I enjoyed reading your poetry. Thank you for following my poetry, I'm following yours also, Marugu. Have a fine day. Bill

Thanks for your visit Inky. He stayed away from them after the pebble landed near him. Was quite hilarious considering how playful he was

Thanks Heidi. Mine was a mix of African savanna and some other breeds. Really tough claws and matted fur, quite a character. Cats are special

Gosh it is an actual lion. Or is your own feral type cat in the neighborhood? Very interesting. Our poor ginger cat escaped our house and it has snowed and rained for four days. I am so sad to think of him dead or hurt somewhere. We are close to mountains and bobcats are known to come down to the streets!!

The cat was a domestic tabby, just that he loved to go out the whole night, come back and sleep all day. Never really harmed any chicken :). Not that I know of. I hope your ginger will come back. Cats can be resilient
