East and West

Dawn:
pink azaleas on the east horizon –
faded before I could possibly
reach them.

Sunset:
Layers of lavender, saffron,
lilac, tangerine – a watercolor wash
of sunset beyond darkening
trees.

When

When
			azaleas spread
			their deep pink cups
			I hold my breath
			and hope for form
			to hold an hour
			before
			they begin their
			twisting dance
			to dust.
			O beauties,
			did my touch
			bruise the space
			about your faltering
			grace?

A Shower of Flowers

Tulips fronting daffodils
  Azaleas in pots on windowsills

Rows of rainbow chrysanthemums
  Mingle with orange geraniums

Bright pink peonies ready to pop
  A bird of paradise sits on top

Still ~ Red roses always make my day
  Arrange them in a sweet bouquet

A Coloring Book

The green song of Spring. A coloring book - the pages fluttering.
Pastel azaleas blooming. Violet hyacinths hug a vertical space.
Lemony tulips with lavish leaves. Iris cycloglossa ~ lilac, yellow, blue.
A felicitous field of larkspur. Petrichor and dewdrop bliss. Sunkisst!

Life's Entropy

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Azaleas are pink;
Camellias are to

The sun is shining;
Pastures renew
The sun rises;
Day breaks to

Light bleeds to Dark
Dreams do to
Azaleas are dying;
The camellias are wilting
Everything has turned an ungodly hue;
Thoughts mildly askew
As my world turned;
Shades of blue

Forget the Chores

I peek out my window,
The sun shining bright,
Flowers and a rainbow,
They smell just right.

The blue birds are singing
Their beautiful song,
The robins decided,
To sing along.

Azaleas fill my lawn,
They are everywhere,
Lilies just beyond,
Cant you see them over there.

What a beautiful spring day,
So nice to be outdoors,
The children at play,
Forget all the chores.

Buffet of Flowers

young hummingbird bush
has yet to bloom – still they fly…
     taste of spring in the air

sweet nectar is sipped
from the daffodil trumpets…
     wings fluttering fast

irises in sight
colorful birds visit them…
     bellies still not full

azaleas call out
the hummingbirds last retreat…
     satisfied, they nest

Grandma's Garden

Apples and Azaleas are always around.
Bright beautiful buds bloom while
crisp cultured cabbage and cucumbers
dot the darkened dirt.
Every edible is excellent.
Fame is so far flung for
Grandma's glorious garden that
Handy Horticulture has offered to hire her.
Imagine, envision her incredulity of their insistence.
Just another jovial, jocular juncture in Grandma's jubliant journey.

Destines: Five Haiku Moments

Mammals shed their hair;
Birds prune and feather their nests;
Snakes crawl out of skins.

Lions stalk their prey.
While birds peck at blades of grass,
Black widows weave webs.

Worker bees work hard;
They make honey from nectar.
Drones eat, mate and die.

Azaleas blooming—
Black widows weaving their webs;
Good-bye silk flowers.

Hungry hate hunting—
Love’s lone lamb looks luscious;
Faith favors freedom.

April 2 Love is in the Air

Springtime Flowers Blooming Love

Springtime in Korea
walking down the world peace forest
near the international airport in Incheon
with the love of my life by my side.

Enjoying the Flowering Trees
The snowing apple trees, cherry blossoms
pear blossoms. the purple azaleas, the anemone,
the buttercups, the daffodils, the magnolia,
the  scotch bloom, the tulips,
the wildflowers in the field.

the fragrance of love in the air
Life is great.

Genesis

There's always been Ethel
isn't it time you tidied your room now
and Mr Thomas is he getting any better now
mowing his lawn
Sunday market, all sundry
roast pork and frilly laces
and I remember the voice from the past

Getting better in your verte garden
with red azaleas awash and pool full
a slithering grass snake
to awaken the soul

there's a pancrea for those in a rush
when the sun is alight
due lovers, gambling your fortune
its one big swoop

Arise Daises

Bloom daisies - bloom-carpet the hillside with your newness
Beckon the azaleas the time to arise has finally come
Let the source of your strength propel you from your rest
Burst through the shell which held you in purgatory
The seasons have given way for your grand entrance.
The larks sing happily a new song - just for your arrival
Being carried on a warm heated Spring wind
While the humming birds create a humming beat
So come arise the way has been made for you.

It Started With a Blank Canvas

A blank canvas beckons for a blend of colours... Azure azaleas attract its attention Festive fuchsias add flavour to the frame Majestic marigolds mesmerise the muse Baby pink roses radiate regal regards Crimson carnations create chords of casual charm White lilies whisper wisdom to the wasps Lustrous lilacs luminate with their lambence Bold buttercups breathe ballads to the bees Peace picturised...the painting is perfect

Do Not Send Me Roses

Do not send me roses
roses do not surprise
lavish me with sweet hydrangeas
their delicate bunches a feast for the eyes

Do not send me roses
roses have become so cliche
lavish me with joyful daisies,
azaleas, or fragrant lilac bouquets

Do not send me roses
God's garden grows many flowers
tall sunflowers bursting with seed
will brighten my day at any hour

Valentines Day has come and gone
my love, remember these words I say
do not send me roses
create a masterpiece for me to display!

The Flowers Add Zest

God created the Earth
And stood back to see.
What more did it need-
Maybe some green trees?

It needed more color
To make it look its best,
So he created all the flowers
Just to add a little zest.

Roses, violets, and lilies of the valley,
Snapdragons, azaleas, poinsettias, and dahlias,
Chrysanthemums, marigolds, zinnias and fern.
I cannot name them all, now it’s your turn!

The flowers added color,
And lots of zest.
Now, Earth was beautiful-
It had passed the test!

Midnight Mosque

In translucent silence
sapphire-capped minarets
stand like ardent rose buds
under glint of a firefly moon.

Gone are birds of day
like ruby breasted dawn
spilling ashes of roses
on a saffron horizon,
rhododendrons and azaleas floating
up high to burnish
the mosque's ghosted towers.

Through night's brisk lapis
the hushed teal dome bides
wafting apple breezes
as walls and turrets lumber,
shielding the tiled plaza
until morning steeps the landscape
in the aura of peacocks.
