Buffet of Flowers

young hummingbird bush
has yet to bloom – still they fly…
taste of spring in the air

sweet nectar is sipped
from the daffodil trumpets…
     wings fluttering fast

irises in sight
colorful birds visit them…
     bellies still not full

azaleas call out
the hummingbirds last retreat…
     satisfied, they nest

This is quite the glorious write my dear friend! I love the use of the hummingbird and the flower within your poem! My favorite stanza has to be the 3rd stanza in all its glory...honestly, Irises are one of my favorite flowers, that and the rose! I really love your poem that I have read this evening! Great Work!!
