Moratorium On Auditorium
Moratorium On Auditorium

There must be a well-made moratorium
On Trump when he was in an auditorium
Pain in you know where,
And also here and there;
Can burn body to ashes in a crematorium.

Lyrical Soul
My heart's sonata races screaming to a rhythm.
Fingers like drumsticks.
Lips frozen like a an ice-skating rink at Christmas.
Voice howling like deep bass.
Eyes black and white piano notes.
My body, the band, is an empty auditorium after the stage blew down in a storm....

Premium Member My Heart Is a Haunted House
Each day I stand within
this hollow auditorium filled
with skeletons of regret.

Each door opened reveals the
nightmares that lay hidden
behind pretty smiles

I travel on rocky pathways in a
search to find...ME

My Heart is a huanted house
forever filled with regrets of
my haunted memories...

Act of Time
David J Walker

The purlieu of my childhood survives in dreams
And haunts me as I drive its hazy streets
Though everything’s complete
		Still intact as if
Some sort of act of time
What was is mine
As I repeat each line as if
Spoken in foreign language play
So far away in a distant auditorium...

The Melody
A different song
enters the symphony hall,
It's not an aria or a choral work,
it's much bigger,
it fills the auditorium.

Outside, on the street,
a busker plays his pennywhistle.

The orchestra and its singers
cease to study scores and song sheets...
pause to listen,

Entranced,
they let the music play on,
through the one throat
of the All....

For Chinua Achebe
The gods have eaten your cake
But we still have it
Some with dirty hands
Stalking your pages
And others virgin hands
Talking your pages
With seething hope

Above you a shrine, a wreath of letters.
The father of stories
Where children never sleep
The auditorium where curtains never fall
The age mate of gems

The gods have eaten your cake
But we still have it...

Heroes' Nest
Leander, my teen-friend in Kalentong
So handsome and so white.
One time, we crossed the bridge of neverlong
Far away from Planetarium with kite.
We saw a painting on a high concrete wall...
He said, "Spoliarium, too big and too tall!"
I said, "No. It looks like one in our school auditorium."
When we turned around, we are already in a polyandrium.
Then we ran....

Sweat drips backstage, mouth parched, heart beating at a sprinter's pace.
All eyes on me, as lights dim with spotlight honing on mic and lips.
Words flow to a standing ovation - I soak it all in.

One of the highlights for me in 2023 was performing spoken word for the first time on stage in front of a packed auditorium. It was a memorable experience and probably the greatest in my creative pursuits....

Premium Member Sixth Grade Shops At the School Store
The sixth graders were the next to shop.
They were a small but mighty group.
They left more loudly than they arrived.
It was great to see them!

So many said thank you.
It was marvelous to be given the gift of their manners.
They are gone now; the auditorium is silent.
Feeling sad, wishing her seats were filled.

Aha! We hear children in the hallway
Heading this way.
I watch the auditorium light up...

Juffair
The Wagtails gathered before sunset,
Dancing their olive steps
Around treetops,
And chatting like teenagers
At an auditorium.

The sky, dreaming
Of dusk at its sapphire edge
Played with the palm trees
That spread-eagled
Lazily In shadows,

Whilst I followed a
Sandy road
Towards the sea,
Amongst the swirling dust
Of a saffron breeze;

A silent contemplation
Over ruby red wine
And arterial bursts
Of magnificent memories....

The Derogatory Diner
There was a chef named Luke,
All of his entrees were nuked.
In every dinner he planned,
All of his food was canned,
And most of his patrons puked.

Now many patrons inquired,
Why this chef was never fired,
But his boss was anemic,
and very bulimic,
Which is why Luke was hired.

This Diner's reputation lags,
But the owner always brags,
That his dining auditorium,
is a modern vomitorium
With no need for doggie bags....

Remembering Him, Sahir Ludhianvi

Lily Swarn, (The Reuel Prize Winner fairy poetess; The Punjabi woman who has a beautiful habit of rising earlier than birds),
Will you 'company me
To The Khalsa High School, Ludhiana,
Today--next year ?
I just wanna sing in the auditorium, 'Dil mai kisi ke pyar ka jalta huwa diya'!

And don't you grow curious!
Do Pritam's shadows still haunt the bungalow 'Parchaayian'?...

I'M Crushed
She is not the type you just find anywhere
In an auditorium of 100 girls, she still wasn't there
Even in her absence, I'm overwhelmed by her presence
Cos deep in my thoughts she sits in graceful elegance
Sitting Indian style while my mind is at her beck and call
We are just friends but that is just in the real world
If you are struggling to understand, you've never felt such rush
Finally, I think I can now admit to myself, I have a crush...

Success Story
An elegant baroque auditorium,
filled with bonafide audience,
awaiting for an eminent avant-grade maestro,
to hear his modern musical cacophony;
A fusion of ancient and modern magical tunes;
that makes the people feel pure elan and bliss
and he never makes his fans embrace ennui.
He was once an epitome of anamoly and failure's friend,
but a hardworking dilettente and was given carte blanche,
he exerted himself to prove him and now his success is a deja vu...

Memories
Memories

I cower, night after night, a one-man audience
In the vast auditorium of my life
There is no applause, no curtain call
                          Only tears
For one misdirected scene after another

Dreams, images of Life's unhappy memories
               Life's harshest lessons
         Come back to dance relentlessly
On the hidden stage of my mind
There to prance, taunt and tease
               Remember, remember.......
