In attic windows
The miracle of night sky
Amazed lying on
A hand-made quilt protected
Against the cold night of stars
In attic windows
The miracle of night sky
Amazed lying on
A hand-made quilt protected
Against the cold night of stars
I am looking for a nook from now on
enough I stayed in the crowds
each story will lead to an end
nobody beyond that not
A creative adult,
a child who survived
New toys in the attic
—where time comes alive
(Villanova Pennsylvania: August, 2020)
THE HIPPOPOTOMOUSE
A rare and dangerous species
is the hippopotomouse
If you get one in your attic
Then you’d better leave your house.
Reading up in the attic
Alone, a breeze through window
Each page a bold mystery
Feeling of spring morn
Russell Sivey
The squirrels' desire emphatic
To airbnb in the attic
Means a landlord may leave
Hors d'ouevres in the eave
That make their guests aromatic
My husband and I had a good laugh!
LOCATING THE SWITCH
light in the attic
when i asked for directions -
just push up or down

What’s hiding in the attic
Nothing but dusty boxes of sentimental relics
~ past I can’t let go

Sweeping out corners
Of memory’s attic, I
Rediscovered self;
Scrap-booked heaps of my life-tales;
Age has stolen so many.
I don't know why I am living today.
Because this day is full of haze.
Locked up in this prison..
Waiting for the light of day.
Flowers in the attic.

Away, away from vast claim's attic
within ~ thy premise so emphatic!
I'm sick of all the strife and static,
I know my "Party" . . . POET-CRAT-IC!
Deep in the attic of your heart,
there is a chest that longs to be opened.
What is inside? You only know,
Pictures and sounds you claim you’ve forgotten
its funny the way you haunt
like an always welcome ghost
chiming chains in my attic
and how you're there, just
always there, keeping
ever after at it

Halloween~~~ Don't know Jack
O'Lantern meets carving knife
Jack the Ripper meets vampire
Bats in the church attic meet black zombie
Cat woman meets Jackall...
Achtung! Ghosts populating the attic
Electricity fills air with static
Normally buy a new house
And worry about a mouse
But footsteps upstairs are so emphatic
On the day after Christmas, bam!
The tree hit the floor once again
That was it, all I could stand, wham!
Ornaments in the attic slain
old trunk in attic
baby shoes, a wedding dress
wrapped in tissue and in tears
time gone forever
no-one remembers it now
memories sold at auction
on the elevator
going down or up
hidden in the attic
holding spotted pup
I hate those musty minutes
no fresh air to be found
on the elevator
going up or down
IT’S OCTOBER
We’ve got to October fifteen
And soon it will be Halloween
So I’ve searched in the attic
For a costume dramatic
And, with fangs, I’m looking obscene
Phil’s attitude and responses were phlegmatic.
He hid them away in his grandma’s attic.
Difficult to arouse was Phillip McGee.
Played poker well, quite unlike give-away-face me.
My attic family causes me pains,
their green and dysfunctional once again,
sinus traffic,
eviction status,
hopefully they'll move out by this weekend.

Live in the Attic
About many things, I can be curious
While others always like living luxurious
And if son surely raises a lot of static
You can always make him live in the attic
Walk with me
Down these roads unknown
Where every face is familiar
But no ones known
Lights in the attic are on
But no ones home
This roads home sweet home
For this rolling stone
I felt it heaven in my attic room
Overtaken by a silent peace
through parted curtains
I saw it was the snow had
come to veil the land with
ribbons from the sky.
