Poem written for and submitted to “Poetry is in the House” poetry contest, Nette Onclaud, sponsor, November 6, 2024.

ATTIC

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ claws scratch pine coffin-lid tiny night intruders~ could they be katydids? they scurry and chatter where dusty rafters sigh squirrels gnaw on pine quid
Attic is often a place where rodents like squirrel and mice live. They know that an attic is a part of the house hardly visited by people. Beautiful entry for the contest.
Yep, they can be destructive. Some cute we are best to keep at a distance. My father taught me that early on.
Oh, I am relaxed alright. Hope the SQ family enjoys the 10 stink-bombs I am now releasing into my attic. ~ On Vac Aishn
