Forever falling
Attempting to stand
Looking for someone to
Lift me out of this hole
In the depths of darkness I am
Never to see the light again
Going nowhere fast
I recall
I recall the poverty of my youth
Attempting to escape truth
Demonstrative love was rarely displayed

wherever there be
fear or subterfuge
our heart dies a little
so the problem is huge
anticipating outcomes
attempting to steer fate
living not authentically
is essentially checkmate
Much more preferable it is for the one who really doesn't know
His ignorance to hide than attempting his competence to show!

Attempting to solve a problem
through worry,
is like trying to drink
a river dry.
The following day you"ll find
neither has changed appreciably,
and you feel much worse
for your effort.
You tried to go to second from first.
Getting a good jump, your run was like a burst.
However, the catcher's throw was right on the money.
You were caught attempting to steal; that wasn't funny.
