Eisteddfod
A pub that's typically Welsh
Has music the English can't squelch
Hymns and arias rule
But, like any gene pool,
The loudest is always a belch!...

On the edge of sleep
Mirage-like echoes
Singing off key

The closing curtain
Whispers
Hidden
In the dusk
Of dreams
Dance
In the vapory mist
Of sleep’s
Oasis.

Cobalt night beckons
Naked moon rises
Amber arias
Veils of lacy light
Teases swelling tides
Night light for lovers

Lyrebird Tales
Mound in the wiregrass is the stage for the dancer in the hills,
who steals the arias of others, then through the valley fills,
a laugh, a whip, a cackle. Even a stolen axe's ring!
Tales of the bush are spoken when a Lyrebird does sing....

Snails race each other

Alleycats love arias

Rats ever get disgusted

The devil dreams of ice cream

Caterpillars long to fly

In the days before Elvis
   Swiveled his pelvis
Young Frankie was rockin'
The girls with bobby socks on

He crooned those love ballads
And jazz arias light as tossed salad
His parting shot, a stirring 'My Way'
On 'Summer Winds' so fickle and gay...

August Jazz
August were the moments we partook
During the preceding night
My eyes dissolved into cacophonies
Of everlasting rivulets
Fate never before
Had glistened so vividly
The beauteous exchange
‘twas the spate of arias betwixt us
Gradually the nexus continued to cleave...

Mastered
Mastered,
understood,
and read,
he could,
compress,
and spread,
at will,
any bill,
in known,
areas,
impressing,
listeners' arias,
with his hands,
on the mantle,
he could assemble,
and dismantle,
with equal ease,
often without,
charging any fees....

Darkness By Jacqueline Arias 7th Grade
It's dark in this room.
    No light to shine.
No one to say hi
    but I'm filled with fright.

No one can see
    The fright inside of me
but the darkness is spreading
    all around me.

There is no future.
    Neither a past.
The present is here
    but it won't last....

Songs of the Nightingale
Songs of the Nightingale
Joyous angelic arias, raised in exuberant praise, serenade and soothe restless souls; moving matchless melodies, nightingale’s mellifluous songs… manifest Glory of God!

Gilded Life
Lost in a labyrinth of
Glistening sights
Infinitely out of reach,
Trembling amidst sweeping mistrals,
Fabricating a life of nostalgic allusions,
Caught in lapsed reveries, of
Restless arias and faint rustlings
Sequestering my rampant aura,
Bleeding in russet naivety,
Evaporating in silent elegies....

A distinguished soprano named Dinah
sings arias in North Carolina.
But her favourite thing,
without doubt, is to sing
selections from Handel's Messiah.

With extraordinary vigor and pith
she sings "I Know My Redeemer Liveth".
When she goes to perform
she'll be in fine form
and precisely know how to giveth....

What Fathoms Boast
Splen'drous verse in silent tongue-
The arias of the night,
Their strains a'sail 'pon saddened seas
In dulcet tones of yearning
To this lonely dance some comfort bring...
For what fathoms boasts the myst'ried Deep
That Love has not the greater?
What fragrance speaks Spring's choicest bloom
That Longing's not the more?...

Sanctuary of Serenity
when my mind is overwhelmed with worldly
cares I take an imaginary journey to the sanctuary
of serenity which provides a welcome retreat
as I follow the path to that special place within
my mind in which operatic birds serenade me with
their arias of happiness and where graceful elms
provide the cool shade from the afternoon sun...

In My House
The winter has been
bleak and the grey
clouds shed rain-tears,
like a child missing their
favourite toy; sounds of
birds, those feathery
seed and fly eaters, are
outside the door, their
chirps and arias ( like
shadows from their
wings) brush the
crumbling wall-plaster,
flaking it onto the crooked
furniture in my house...

Cloudy Reasons
Dark though inside stars can keep you warm
But like arias— never stepping chase
This solo softens when distance far
For blacking out slowly— memory's sake.
I see you so beautiful in gray.
And I'm gray too— in your bright waxing dust;
Where I riddle away with our cause.
In this dizain, I pull on you near—
Though we sidestep a shadow love,
Falling stars flicker in eyes— my tears....

Premium Member Summer Dreams

Upon my pillow leave a gentle kiss of hope
along with shallow breaths of love and truth
while the flotsam arias of your fragrant soap
linger softly on the tendrils of my youth.
Attire me in summer dress and sandelettes
and as a gentle sun soft-sets my shoulderettes
lead me to that place where all my dreams insist
on cradling a sun that never ceases to exist.

Premium Member You Should be Dancing!
All followed the lore, drawn to the cultured door
Arias rushed in score with Puccini lovers galore
All to hail in glore, the cherished Master's store
Then, the ROAR! Gratitude for the first drawer
Cries, for MORE! Then, came her sweet spore
In awe to adore. How could hope seek to ignore?
Welcoming rapport. A shared hope for an ENCORE?
No one need abhor. She said YES to the dance floor...

Center Stage
I rehearsed the lines to be the center of your stage
I knew every line by heart
I knew the lyrics to every score
that the orchestra would have played
I knew the backdrops for every scene
the costumes to be worn
I knew my cues, and yours too
as I waited at your stage-door

I knew I was the understudy
when I tried out for the part
still I waited in the wings
with my arias to sing
on a curtain that never rises...

Wind-driven, deceptive, mysterious, cries vixen's pulsating, debauchery with haunting arias, mesmerizing! The lighthouse, fearlessly, captivated, by siren's symphonic orchestrations shines brighter, exclaiming calamity! She cautions vigilant navigators... fog's mirage masquerades mortality!..
