Aquatic

Refreshing white flow,
   Spray disappear into great
     aquatic body

Numbered Sheep (Tanka)

Corkscrew through depths of
aquatic oblivion
whirls of confusion.
Numbered sheep blaat in cyclones
and wake my unconcious mind.

Behold the frog pond!
And beautiful lily pads
Alive. And bonded.

Water Hyacinth

Dictatorship is water hyacinth
once it infests water
it shocks aquatic life
limits fishermen
terrorizes fish at home
difficult to eradicate
and benefits a few

Fish Tanka

I gaze at a bowl

Where goldfish swivels through moss

Its fine gills aglow---

With such aquatic prowess
As it wiggles restlessly

One Day Summer

Great Southern,
land, down under, wintry,
Spring rain, precipitation, gloom....

Drear our days,
Until sunshine appears!
Joyous, seeking shorts, swimmer liles,

Down the beach,
Aquatic centers thrive,
Pallid limbs suntanning, right now!

F I S H

The fish comes to the surface of water
to observe the earth world
of men...
 Sights what it sees, and
feels the danger...
For just a moment,
 it analyzes , observes...concludes
it's not solid ground...
So he dives back
to its aquatic world...!

Inner History

Now on the face
Huge deep yellow color’s
Tragic spread.

In the history of time
The melancholy flag, motionless
Remains bent, leaning head.

Swims in the strong current
Aquatic plants of Satmukhi lake
As if rolling over
The sigh of the trembling soul.

Daddy, there's an octopus in the cellar.
Dear, the octopus is an ocean dweller.
Daddy, now the octopus is in the attic.
Dear, the octopus is known to be aquatic -
just as I have told you, daughter.
Daddy, but the house is underwater.

Premium Member The Pond Ducks

             I love the ducks
on the pond in the park
drifting along paddling their webbed feet.
Dappling ducks feeding in the shallow water,
on aquatic plants, small fish and insects.
Amazing how the ducklings swim right after birth.

Aquatic Artist

Water wearing down the mountain
carving out a canyon
For millions of years it
makes its mark
causing cracks and crevices
into which it creeps
carrying away the detritus
to be deposited downstream
Sculpting the landscape
just as Michelangelo did marble
An aquatic artist

Zapholus was once his name One and alone since the storm Empty oceans, without claim Nestled him where he was borne Octopi then made him strong Round he grew, and twice as long Mates he saw on a beach Attacked a male to them reach Now you know the sea lion's song

Little Mermaid

I float
dance along
the ocean floor

I glide
move along
my aquatic hell

I gasp
float along
as I try to inhale

My lungs fill
I struggle
I flail

The light dims
I sink down
deeper

Into the cold
unforgiving

grave
of
the
sea

Into the deep
where little fishies
will gnaw and nibble
at me

My Moniker

I share my first name with six kings,
Three presidents, and England's patron saint.
With my middle name, as Finbar,
   If Irish, which i ain't
My surname's used by kings with rings,
To put their stamp on wax.
   Also an aquatic mammal
Or in fact it can fill cracks.

Sardines

imagine the sardines
in the tube
swimming round and round
against an unceasing
mock current
do they know their place?
Doomed to live as an aquatic chandelier
as perpetual showmen for the sake of our “knowledge”
Do they know?
Im terrified to think that they might not,
because then maybe we dont either.

Premium Member Penguin Feeder

In the backyard I built a penguin feeder
In the hopes of becoming a breeder
But I have yet to spot
A penguin on my lot
So I hired an aquatic cheerleader

At first she attracted a duck and a wren
So I quickly built a large penguin pen
But after ten days
I sent her away
When she only drew in, fishy smelling men
