Growing Colors
Anacreontic Verse.

Planting a seed
germinating
birthed in the soil
a flower grows
to meet the sun
washed in the rain
born into light
tiny green shoots
natures children
God’s creation
tendered nurtured
bursting with color
delicate face
lifted up high
butterfly kiss
bees pollinate
making summer
a lovely place
pick for lovers
a warm embrace...

Premium Member Beach Summer Fun
Warm sun tans
Beach tourists
Seeking fun
In azure
Ocean waves
Surfers ride
Wood tables
Flouting tides
Children play
With the sand
Paddleboards
Young swimmers
In the shore
Swim for hours
Sunset hides
Golden disc
Ending day
Bringing night
Enjoyment
In hotels

Fourth Dimension
Anacreontic Verse

Forgotten
love has faded
forever now lost
in the lips of ice
What once was
is no more
Her body revolts
she heaves heavily
Get thee away
Deliver me Lord
back to sanity
Let her feel my eyes
let her see my needs
a soft bed for two
now scorned by my touch
Let me give my might
pray show me the way
I will not lose her
I cannot go on
My life is over

Cold Flight
(Anacreontic Verse)
11/6/2015

Cold Flight

Cold flight! What ice
finds fierce fire
between paws
of mine crunching
through rough snow
and slush slip
mush mist up
from face and
tail underfoot.
Careful pines
step aside of our
hunt tonight
sky lighted
by lightning
finding prey very
frightened of Life’s
biological
cycle, like the eye
of a rifle
eying my demise
behind traitor pines....

Anacreontic verse

Bacchus rose
joy purging
xeric throats
choking upon
libations
conflicted aims
dancing naked
fearlessly awash
escaping
inhibition’s
tyranny
loosing anger’s soul
through merriment
releasing
wingless spirits
thoughtless thoughts
unfettered
voices mumbling
wine soaked praise
to numbing’s god.

Poets
Poet paints
on canvas of
human mind
using brushes of
poetic tools and
strokes of passion
to create a
picturesque scene
that takes readers
out on a journey
to unseen places
and makes them
feel the innate
beauty of nature
or to release
pent up emotions
that make readers
ponder over
human mind and
life in general

Anacreontic verse

These April showers
will drown the flowers
and drive the tourists
all away.
The rainclouds hover.
They run for cover
and wish they'd waited
for a day.
But if thy stay for
only an hour,
they'll find that this
was just a shower.
It is for certain
we'll raise the curtain,
on fields of tulips
in bright array.
But April showers
are good for flowers.
Come back to see us
in sunny May.

Premium Member A Lovers' Heartbeat Anacreontic Verse
Timeless lyrical,
compassionate dance,
a shifting effect
of light and color,
the glowing full moon
conducts in folk tune.
Indispensable
distant humble stars
spring a russet, sign.
White unfolded wings
flitter wayward round
a rhythmic beating
in shadow, chill, air.
The spike tuft ears owl
melodies hooting,
influence passion.
A lovers' heartbeat
keeping steady rhythm.
A starlight guides the
way by windswept night.

Anacreontic verse

Stirring summer
summer is smile
smile with joy
joy and hope
hope for best.

Early sunrise
sunrise and birds
birds sing
sing to flowers
flowers smile.

Longer days
days with fun
fun in sun
sun is bright
bright all day.

Beaches busy
busy are tides
tides so high
high in sky
sky all blue.

Golden ball
ball turns red
red is sky
sky gets stars
stars visit night.

Alone In My Room
Myriad thoughts
Go through my head
Of private sins
That should be dead
And dreams long spent
That recur and rent
My aching soul
My flesh is weak
I need a plan
To divert me from
My evil thoughts
Please let me see
Life’s goodness abound
odious demons
That tempt my heart
Can I be saved
from this cold world
With time to repent
Though my soul is rent
And be saved again

Anacreontic Verse
            ~~

  Hearts flutter
  in the dance of love
  as passions ignite
  deep emotions,
 carrying love's torch,
 scattering embers
 that glow beneath
 the yellow moon
  Luna slumbers
  behind the clouds
  as night passes
  into dawn
  flowers kiss
  the morning dew
 and lovers kiss
  with hearts so true
  embracing in
  the morning light
  with blissful thoughts
  of love's sweet thrills

Morning Sun - Anacreontic Contest
anacreontic verse

early morning
sun arising
bright red sky
welcoming dawn
where have you been
whilst I slept
whose bodies you heated
whilst i shivered
cold cold night.
so blue without you
I need you
my friends need you
yet you leave our side
leaving a cold moon
to lighten our way.
you burn the soil
of poor people
not kind
yet we welcome you
bright yellow sun ray
can you not choose
to stay
just a little longer

Summer Evening
Ice cream in hand
I let my hair fly
in warm summer breeze
It’s nine in the night
The sun witnesses
folks walking their dogs
dads pushing strollers
kids riding bikes
or shooting hoops
runners pushing hard
neighborhoods abuzz
with excited life
Then I think
the same hour
in winter
So dark and lonely
with no signs of life
And I walk some more
Then sit in the porch
to watch the sun set

Premium Member April Showers Bring May Flowers Anacreontic Verse
With loving drops
from heavens lap
greyness fades
from every view
In its place
color, born to sing
shines in verse
to natures music
Accompanying
sounds of triumph
are heard above
raindrops patter
Reds, yellows, lilacs
smile timidly
into the blueness
of their mothers breast
With Mays arrival
a golden father
looks down with
beaming pride
to see his
children at play,
nestled in new warmth
and to new
resolution

Blue Sky
ANACREONTIC VERSE

Clouds whisper
Smiling up there
Birds are flying
With the morning air
Sun shines bright
So as the trees
Everyone dances
Celebrating its
Heavenly beauty
Its color rages
Every daytime
That’s why it is loved
By every man
Beautiful blue sky
A symbol of hope
Paint the whole world
With your tincture
Which defines
True happiness
Make the world bright
Outshine darkness
Pretty blue sky
Don’t fall asleep
Shine bright up there
Watch us down here...
