cardinal beauty
'pon the low hanging willow...
amaryllis blooms
weeping willow tree's
low limbs graced by cardinal..
amaryllis bud
.
Amaryllis stood
Erect like a straight soldier
Red feminine bloom
Down where the privet hedge's buds are white
There are green blueberries upon verdant bushes
They are all chilled by low temperatures at night
While amaryllis' buds through earth pushes
Aroused within me
Re-awoke as 'twere
Fine senses, fleshless ones.
Make one feel deeper.
All of you lovelies
Honourably blest
Hovered round, so rained upon
Tearily know this.
Blushing, for amaryllis.
More abashed, dearest!
Amaryllis a tall slender stem,
reminds me of a model,
topped with a beautiful face.
A symbol of strength and
determination.
Began from a tiny bulb,
humble beginnings.
With tender loving care
grows into a beauty inside
and out.
Amaryllis apple blossoms start to bloom.
Bumblebees buzz and butterflies float about.
Fruits of renewal are ripe for the picking.
Harbinger of spring

JONQUIL
You may know me as Jonquil
My cousins are daffodil and narcissus
A fringed cup surrounded by petals
Each combining white with yellow
The latter, a hue with my own name
And I’m perfumed, but they are not
Distinctive yet I shouldn’t be proud
As amaryllis, we are all still family
Amaryllis boasts,
Declaring her love,
Conquests flaunted,
Prideful and beauty,
Tower above,
Look at me?
Deceivingly she calls,
Toxic and poisonous,
Voluptuous flower,
Her femme-fatale,
Expensive perfumes,
Seducing oils
Relaxing massages,
Into her blossom,
Splendour with elegance,
Her victims
Die!
Gardens are sacred places
Of peace and tranquil delight.
Where amaryllis and daisies,
Live among gardenias and roses,
And lilies of the valley grow,
In the bright sunlight.
Beauty is abundant here,
Exquisite fragrances fill the air.
Color and artistic design reign supreme
And God’s hand is apparent everywhere.

Xenial: Adjective used to describe a friendly relationship between a host and their guests
Our garden of love
Grows well
with Tantalizing Tulips
And Beautiful Blue Bells!
The dazzling splendor
of Aromatic Amaryllis
enriches our Heart.
the constancy in Love
we have borrowed
from its Radiant spark!
The Hypnotizing Hyacinths
enlightens our day
so that our love
grows in every phase
my very very old poems.
Despite my ravishing hunger
I am ever so full
The barrage of rolling thunder
Joins the moaning of the ghoul
The sun is blocked by clouds
The fog obscures my sight
While my soul is filled with doubts
I refuse to see the light
But the sun peeks through and shines
Despite the tyrant storm
My amaryllis flower
Of my soul has just been born
The're out
the're out
Spring
announces with
a shout-
Yellow
yellow
everywhere
look
look
left or right
here,there
anywhere-
under trees
nodding
in the breeze
braving
March wind chill
narcissus
amaryllis
or
if you
will
daffodil
There's a star in me
Crushed under my heart
Waiting to escape
To burst through my skin, my shirt
Weeping beams of light
There's a star in me
Who doesn't like whispers
Or subtle hues of blue and grey
But the loudness of shouts
And red amaryllis
There's a star in me
Who doesn't like generic avatars
For Facebook profiles
But wants to be known by its name
Its shine undimmed
Stalwart Alps beauty sees
Wild crocus blooms at your feet
White around your crown
Daffodils blowing in wind
Sun shines brightly once again
Glorious vibrant
Hues, reflect the rays, much joy
Eyes take and treasure
Daffodils shout a
Welcome to spring, trumpeting
To Narcissus' song
Cool breeze blow against the blooms
Welcome colors fragrant joy
Daffadown Dilly
Jonquil a Southern beauty
Amaryllis' gift
Fiery giant poppies
Cheerful bright chrysanthemum
Spicy scented dianthus
Statuesque amaryllis
Flamboyant hibiscus
Vivacious geranium
Seductive anemone
Exotic calla lily
Ruffled marigold
Bodacious begonia
Luscious dahlia and ludic zinnia
Dress the garden with pure delight
Exuberant in shimmering rays of sunlight
As sweetly the summer zephyr whispers

As brief as summer you swept
across my heart's desert
like a Santa Ana wind's hot caress.
Now the eastern passes
are still as virgin rocks
unto a land whispering
of forgotten wildflowers.
In your absence marigolds bloom not
with the disappeared mockingbird.
Only as the last petals
of amaryllis wither do I ache.
You brought me a translucence
of amber for my burnished bouquet.
Love was an ebullience of golden wheat,
our laughter a resplendence of sunflowers.
5/17/17
I got an amaryllis bulb,
Which was a lovely gift.
I knew that when it flowered,
It would give my heart a lift.
For weeks, the stalk was growing,
Then some buds came into view.
Now there’s one amazing flower;
Soon, it seems, there will be two.
When I looked for information
About amaryllis care,
I discovered they can bloom each year
And it’s not even rare
For an amaryllis bulb to last
For 40 years, but still,
I don’t plan (as per my husband)
To include it in our will.
