Star

There's a star in me Crushed under my heart Waiting to escape To burst through my skin, my shirt Weeping beams of light There's a star in me Who doesn't like whispers Or subtle hues of blue and grey But the loudness of shouts And red amaryllis There's a star in me Who doesn't like generic avatars For Facebook profiles But wants to be known by its name Its shine undimmed
