The Bird of Paradise plant that I saw
Spiky petals in a vivid orange shade
Only Nature could have displayed it
And so strange that none can ignore
When life from the stars comes a calling,
Be suave and genteel, not appalling.
One's first words should be:
'Would you like some tea?'
With diction correct, and no drawling.

Woke up with a look of terror on my face
Dreamt I was an alien from deep outer space
With big oval eyes
Small body in size
With a complexion that resembled mayonnaise
An alien snatched my wife one strange night,
To planet Speed, they took her in flight.
But the alien confessed,
She'd been sorely unimpressed,
So back home, he returned her, contrite.
We look to the heavens filled with wonder
We can only surmise others are way up yonder
Beings like us guys
But with glowing eyes
Really not sure but something to ponder
serpentine-tailed beast
screams go unheard in vacuum
