Second Time's the Charm--Abridged
I’ll keep this short,
that all may know
These words I write,
I write to show
Please do a poem honor
and read it again
Don’t let first time through
be simply the end....

Route 66ish No 10
Route 66ish No 10
There was a young girl from Nantucket,
Who collected her eggs in a bucket,
One fell on her toe,
So she really let go,
And cried "Gosh! Now I won't have to crack it!"...

Anaconda's Aerial Ambition Abridged
An anaconda, Arthur, so wide,
Tried to join a tightrope, and sighed.
He wobbled and swayed,
Then simply just stayed,
"That's not balance," he hissed, "I've been lied!"

Twixt Alpha and Omega
Twixt Alpha And Omega
By: Tom Wright
3/17/2006
Between our beginning and death,
Lies a happening strip, life, so dubbed.
Its distance abridged by each breath,
Until God, declares, mission scrubbed.

Working Ants Chant
Working ants chant!
(abridged)
I am a sunrise solution
I am a sunrise solution
I chase clients
Like a go-getter Following comfort crumbs
With promised dalliance anthem
With legwork related resolution
That set everything in motion
I am sunrise solution
I am sunrise solution...

Mauve tigers roam
Assiduously down the riverbed.
Roland, my soul’s wanderer,
Is getting the itch again.
Jalousies creak from frames high on the watch towers. Even
Ulysses begged for mercy in the Un-
Abridged text. Though
No one has to know about my tiger.
Are you inclined to pet?...

Thief
The book - an abridged dictionary.
I open the cover, discover
a library record,
the book had not been
checked out or checked in.
1974 is stamped clearly on the page.
I found it under a hill of stored paperbacks.
I must have stolen it.
Who the hell would steal a dictionary!
Then it comes to me –
a young man hungry for words
that’s who....

Opposing Suspension Tableau
I’ll meet you halfway
set fire to both ends
Kiss you in stasis
as our world upends
God it feels so good
when balance transcends
Separated yes
the crossing’s now ash
Lost due to movement
and one lonely splash
Our love abridged? No
devilishly rash

They Came As Birds
They came as birds
no nests to live in
without food to eat
everything to worry about
Now they are sharks
with glass bottles as nests
storage bans to control
and nothing to worry about
New prophets rose up
carrying abridged bibles
and swords to plow fields
but required none to convert
Birds, sharks, prophets, pride;
midnight sun is watching....

Dear Brain (Abridged)
My dear brain, forgive me, won't you?
I've filled you with alcohol, time and again
My heart's silence drowning the head's tin can
Once and for all I am delivered to you
Forgive me, won't you?
Give me time, an agenda if you must.
Make me a shoe salesman, a bird-watcher,
A circus clown, whatever...
But keep and restore the Trust of the Spirit.
Forgive me, brain....

Abridged
it happened just as I say it did:
I was ten or sometime after.
late for school,
running uphill
then I stopped running
and walked into an open field
knowing I was nobodies problem.
I left town following a disused railway track
and never turned back
except the ending of this story
has been rewritten by time
for that same day,
like a wet dog
coming in from the rain
I returned....

Rufi In My Wine -Abridged Version-
I let an opportunist within my circle of trust
He slipped a rufi in my wine
I was too naïve to question
my sudden lapse of memory
I tremble at what might have been
I was like putty in his hands
it happened so easily
I was so naïve
My destiny was in the hands of
someone who could not be trusted
my luck hanging on a string

Out Cold
OUT COLD
out cold ground floor
afflicted by calm daze
above beating chants dance
ample basic canvas draped
out cold ground floor
abridged dreams cross doubts
across blinds careless drapes
arid brains carcass droughts
out cold ground floor
aspiring bloods crimson drool
amidst blackouts cruel demise
acquittal by chance deluge
out cold ground floor
anaesthetized
behind
closed
door

What Conclusion Was Left?
The seizure,
volatile it was,
the way to tell, for the things
he did not want to say.
You suffer silently.
Coming to boiling point,
for the starkness of the torture.
The abridged wholeness was empty.
Only howling remained.
Can you measure the pain?
The depth of the wound?
Start the dialogue with the unseen?
The flame protected in the folds
of a primeval skill,
now singes the clarity.
Between you and I no space was left.

Writers Cramp "abridged Version"
I once wrote a poem when i felt really cynical
all the letter's had pointed sharp edges.
another time i wrote a poem about a drunk dyslexic
it read in mumbles from right to left.
and this one time i wrote a poem about
a pen that had internal bleeding, it leaked words
when slanted between the thumb and forefinger
it filled pages of notebook's, and ruined
many a pair of pants in the wash,
but i dried it in the dryer and now it is dead........
