Premium MemberWhen the Fan Falls

The steady metallic hum stops,
while working with focus,
After a second of silence,
then the world shifts.

Metallic fan rained down,
On my safe space of the working table,
Fear grips my chest, thinking about
Had it fallen when I was right below?

Papers fly, My laptop, my soul was touched,
My focus on work was scattered.
Helpless, I watch shockingly.

The crash shakes my bones,
echoes in my skull.
I can't move. Quiet follows,
heavy and thick.
My breath caught.

People rush in,
voices blur together.
I'm alone in the chaos.

Staring at the fallen ceiling fan,
I feel small and fragile.
Life feels short.

My hands shake,
tears threaten.
I'm alive but changed.

Each breath is a gift.
My heart races with gratitude,
and lingering fear.

I look at the mess of the accumulated black dust,
The fan had shed on my office table,
Oh! at my second chance.
Words will come,
but now, I feel.

Spinning Knee Man, from THE WOMAN WHO COULD EAT WOOD

Spinning Knee Man

His knees grew bigger and
steel strong until he was big.
Whenever he wanted to he could extend his knees (and it didn’t even hurt!) ten times as big.

That wasn’t a grotesque display
as it probably should be.
No one could see his flat, rounded triangular bone,
only see his pale hairy skin that covered his knee.

Shockingly no muscles damaged.
Shockingly no tendons and ligaments damaged.

He could spin his
knees and skin like a small chopper in high gear.
His role was to air deliver packages to homes. And deliver orphans to their new homes afar and near.

Doing both was highly rewarding. The community marvelled at his ability that was totally rare.
He joked that the best thing about it was
that he got to fly for free everywhere.

Premium MemberLost

Warfarin wanderer of dark forests
Shattered dreams of yesterday
Promises forgotten like petals
In the wind diatonic chords
That no one can process
Yesterday’s and faraway
Slumbers wake a vision
To behold at suns rise
Carried through life’s
Mysterious endeavors
Love and romantic
Interludes shockingly
Familiar yet leave a
Bitter taste on lips
Dewdrops on leaves
After a summer rain
Brisk and unforgettable
Yet the rainbow of color
Promises of gold
At the end empty
Hands bare and worn

Premium MemberComing and Going

Why did God tell Moses, ‘Come to Pharaoh?’
Shouldn’t He have told him to ‘Go?’

  Was Moses afraid to go?
    I don’t think so

Pharaoh was extremely arrogant, you know
Told folks he created the Nile River, and so

Telling Pharaoh just once, ‘Let My People Go’
Moses would return with nothing to show

G-d knew Moses would have to come back again and again
Maybe five or six times, perhaps even ten

So, when G-d told Moses ‘Come,’
Moses understood it would be quite a long run

Ten Plagues over almost a year ~ before Pharaoh was done

     _____________________________________
Exodus 10:1 - 13:16 is the Torah portion read
in synagogues this Saturday (Sabbath) morning.
It includes the last three of the ten plagues, as
well as the Israelites' exodus from Egypt. I see
that the word 'Bo' is translated into English as
'Go' in many Bibles. This is shockingly incorrect.
Any Israeli child knows that 'Bo' means 'Come.'
     ... Hence, this poem.

Premium MemberDon't Trust The Sci-fi-ence

Way back a learned man tried to teach his
Students, the treatment of using leeches.
And to those who had doubting defiance,
They were told to, ‘Just trust the science.’

After all what’s wrong with bloodletting,
When good health is what you’ll be getting.
Yet sometimes leeching was overdone,
Which aided the death of George Washington.

Two hundred years ago some Calomel,
Was supposed to make sick patients well.
But some people cried out ‘It has cured me,’
To avoid ingesting more mercury.

And shockingly there’s coffee enemas,
To ease constipation dilemmas.
Yet its cure is just ‘pie-in-the-sky’,
Joining that list of cures, that are sci-fi.

Sci-fi persists with Coronavirus,
Since shots can bring on myocarditis.
Still, people long to be in compliance,
Coz for god’s sake, they trust the sci-fi-ence.

Why be like past sci-fi-ence enablers,
Who believe the paid off ‘expert’ fablers.
Why not take time to learn alternate views,
And debunk myths with good health and good news.

Premium MemberGentlemen Who Joust

Gently probing her vulnerabilities
     seeking only the slightest advantage
He parries her feints most delicately
awaiting an opening to do some damage...

When she, shockingly, reveals a secret so deep
then casts aside his sword to weep
and declare: A man who jousts with a lady fair
is mete to unseat in her heart's affairs

Premium MemberA Flapper Works Here Now

she is opinionated the man told me
with bobbed hair and showing every knee
innovative and daring in ways of the world
I saw her flapping, she was tossed and twirled

I wished I could be so wild, confident and free
she had a kick-a-pooh attitude that I could see
Bee Bop Ah doo, Diddly Dop Dop dee
She has a zippy attitude, that Miss Cee!

shockingly glamorous, with fringe on her hem.
Showing her gams and her feminine whim.
I am supposed to be repulsed, but I am inspired.
She is the prettiest co-worker we’ve ever hired!

Bello Abisola Ewaola

A year through glorious gain
Even though troubles pour like rain
How efforts seems to be derailing!
Shockingly, Jehovah comes bailing
Then thoughts run head so insane

When the Lord stamped it 360 degree
He finally gave you truly the blue key
To cease mourning and verily disagree
With impossibility existence blue guarantee
To find possibility in years ahead off plea

So, entertain luck in grace per luck with joy
"Wishes of yours will be true", says your boy
Be real like always, dear humble friend
And celebrate in thanksgiving with heart
Cum music, gifts, prayers to mainly blend
In each, do forever find such spark an art!

Live Grace to the Fullest
Even amidst raging tempest.

Premium MemberUbiquitous Dream

Ubiquitous Dream

The dream seems
Ubiquitous
Solid and moving
With many boundaries
Many depths
Many interconnections..
No escape from the dream
It is dreamed..
Everything solid and
Imagined
Nighttime and daytime..
Yet a dream of nothing
Is another dream of
Not knowing or
Emptiness..may seem
Shockingly
Paradoxically
Indescribably
Immediately
Ubiquitous...

Premium MemberNature Wizard Chester Catmaster

Chester CatMaster, a nature wizard,
cast a few spells upon some lazy lizards;
chanting “Meow-chi-nik-de-nook-do-kangi”,
he turned them into various fungi.

There were Buttons and ake,
Puffballs, Polypores and maitake;
Hedgehog, Earpiks and Penny Buns,
Old Chester was having so much fun.

Chester had given them legs of their own,
around and around him, they all did roam.
He held onto their roots like little leashes,
this sight left me quite shockingly speechless.

There he stood with the fungi all dancing around,
I believe he considered them to be little clowns.
Then he did something that had me surprised,
he planted them into the ground and fertilized.

Turned their legs into roots that held them in place,
I looked and he had a huge smile on his face.
He said he was planting a yard full of trees,
the fungi helped them to communicate with ease.

Warding off dangerous insects is vital;
fungi are helping trees do it in cycles.
Chester CatMaster is simply the best;
his Fungi will always outdo the rest.

Death of Mighty Cat

Full of mice was the house,
As was my head, full of lice as well.
On those mice, daily the mighty cat fed;
Like pets, behaved the mice.

A mouse here, the massive cat has seen.
On it to heavily once bounce for dinner.
Into their nests, refuge they took;
Silent like a graveyard, the home became.

The environs grew shier and more moribund;
More foes the mighty slayer cat had created.
Upon hearing of his disappearance, only to rejoice,
Out for a vesperal dance, all stupid rats flocked.

Shockingly to only notice late cat’s cousin among them;
Invited by some injudicious daughters of rodents,
The lives of an ethnicity to foolishly endanger;
Not knowing that at night, all cats are black.

A New Sunshine

This day takes off, refreshingly
Drifting in umber humility
Mewling riotously, in cheer
While, reap colors squint near
Shockingly in shades of pink clear
Evening advances in bliss upon
From that point on
The night moon
Sparkles in splendid, yellow radiate
As dusk settles over sky precipitate
The metaphorical night fell upon us
She was loaded up with adoration fuss
Warm emotions gushed inside me
I spilled out my kind gestures free
On her excellence aplenty
She sparkled like the sun guarantee
A most moving entry
Of energy and intensity
To fill the part
Of affection in my heart

Premium MemberIn An Obscure Galaxy

The aristocratic Martian delicately kissed her hand
She blushed, as only an alabaster Venetian can
He ushered into his supersonic cab
Endearing himself with a superlative gift of gab

Away the two flew to an obscure galaxy
They dined on poached protoplasm and astral puree
But when it was time to pick up the tab
The aristocrat -- no gentleman he -- said shockingly
     ~ 'You pay for it all: I'm a woman's libber, tee-hee'

The Wall Between Us

It all started with an ecstasy
Strangely its not getting high above the sea.
I wanted to know your name.
Hoping you wanted the same.

Interesting circle of friends.
How to ride a bicycle that bends?
Across the globe where you stand,
I hope to make it and give you a hand.

First I knocked once, then twice and thrice..
Hoping you'll open the door and be nice
Oh that long wavy yet glossy hair,
Is what I've been longing to care.

Shockingly how things turned blue
I instantly forgot what to do.
Would she even dare to listen?
Come on mind, care to hasten?

Minutes, hours, even days will pass
Heck! Years came across the goalies pass
Please take this last advise..
Don't hestitate, maybe offer a cream of ice?

Youth Afflictions

Black men's with their troubles again
Mental turn black, no too dey reason again
White eyes turn wine, no dey see again
Criminals Edition who's making the scene again

So terrifying! Innocents blood on streets
Shockingly! All flowing like a stream
Cleaning may face, was this all a dream?
Speak up "we're the voice of the streets"

Lengthen days are shorten
Tick-tock it's counting
Multiple bloods spilling
Criminals still bouncing

Stop the killings, if you want to live long
Those you killed also have some to live for
Protectors found guilty after taking liquor
I felt this in me so I gat to speak up

Government blaming "what's all these we've all start"
We're asking "can they wake the lost lives?"
Those guys killed were our bloodlines
Come blow for blow, omo Soldiers go "pie"

No more killings!, No more Brutality
No more lives for sacrifices
We gat everything to be Armed
Buh we remain armless for you not to be Harmed
          Speak up
                                                         Honey Crown
