Super-cala its a Gala-Day
I will dress up in a special way
Take you dancin' like a Barbie doll
adorned in heals stabbin' six feet tall !
Tall and beautiful with eyes like scotch
doll- dance with me, take it up a notch.
Way too much fun to give it up Shirl,
days of yore are here, kick it up girl !
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
My husband and I ate a mango.
Afterwards, we danced the Tango.
I wanted to dance the Flamenco,
My husband wouldn't,
So I let my Man Go.
I would have to find another,
To dance with me, I spied my brother,
My brother said, Shirl, go and ask mother,
I have been painting I will smother,
You with paint my girl.
So my advice is to take a whirl,
Or twist and twirl,
Or maybe curl,
Yourself up in a chair,
So nobody will see you there.
Shirl was tired of prancing around,
Her feet had hardly touched the ground,
Her energy was once renowned,
That was long ago.
When she was young,
The days seemed so happy and gay,
Black and white, no shades of grey,
Today she didn't feel that way.
She was feeling very down.
Like a circus that had lost its clown,
Or a Go-Go dancer,
Who fell off of the stage,
She was feeling quite enraged.
I should not have eaten that Man Go,
The fruit that makes me want to Tango.
Why is it called mango, anyway,
It's not politically correct to say,
MANGO even though my Man ran away
THE DANCING CHILD and The Fox Trox- -
See the dancing child
She's a very antsy little dancing child
She finds it hard to see the giggles
Overshadowed by the dances squiggles
Who is that watching near the pink
I think she'd like to eat me think
She is but a fun girl
Admired as she sits upon a shirl
Her empty stomach givers and shakes
It needs for food it runs on cake
She's not alone she brings a suede
A pet fox and lots of palisade
The fox likes to dance also
Especially the fox trots cause he'a herbivore
The dancin girl shudders at the fox
Fox wants to leave but she wants to fox trot

9toes
The bloody 9toes needed boots,
Cos he had just nine toes,
Big toe in the back wheel had slipped,
Push bike has caused his woes,
got him for carnal knowledge, Merle,
But all he dug was dirt,
Riding the ten bob, dollar, Shirl,
Poor will got bruised an hurt,
Later on he went way north,
To get another lady,
The bridge crossed was fifty feet below,
Got airborne flying maybe,
Cunnamulla fella, buried him,
The local ladies wept,
Nine toes had now crossed the styx,
And Charon was perplexed …

Preface: I wrote this for Shirley, a middle aged
close friend and co-worker!
Well here's another birthday!
My how time does fly!
It almost seems impossible,
that another years gone by!
Several moons have come and gone,
since the Doc first pulled you out!
You've had many joys and sorrows,
so you know what life's about.
It really makes no difference,
how many years have passed,
it's how you use the ones that's left,
that determines if you'll last!
If someone can be judged by looks,
if that's a proper gage,
then you've made the best of what you have,
'cause you never seem to age!
You have a youthful figure
of which you must be proud!
Anyone who isn't blind,
can see you're well endowed!
You've a pleasing personality,
warmth and charm and wit.
You always stand-out in a crowd,
unless there's a place to sit!
So have a Happy Birthday, Shirl
and have a little fun!
Count your many blessings,
like knowing me, for one!
Don't let these words go to your head,
but if you must my dear,
the best way I can think of is,
to stick 'em in your ear!
Happy Birthday, Shirl!
.Rainbows reflecting the love left behind
so thoughtful caring and above all so kind
when the colours stretch across the sky
thoughts cant evaluate the reason why.
You were snatched away, from us all so soon
there be days that are rippled,to a a raging monsoon.
Because we all have lost, loved ones we desire
to have them back for one time, feelings of fire.
Shirl your everyday nature you did elude
to the very last exhaled breath, did conlude.
And the angels asked you, to say farewell and came
away from us all,but yet free of pain.
.
IN MEMORY OF MY SISTER SHIRLEY ASPREY .. 29/10/56..18/10/08 X
Yesterday,as the sun shone down
strolled to my aunties, she out of her gown
having a better day, health not too clever
but was so good see you and chat, however
Not speaking for coming upto nearly three year
family issues the problem,now i don`t care
`cos the effective calmness, and all the love
you loved the chain from our Shirl who`s above
Looking back now,i think to myself why
it took so long to solve,`cos money can`t buy
back all the time that has so past
but will make it all up,and make it last
Well Dot i shall wind up your rhyme
i know i will see again very soon sometime
because on leaving your house,i can confess
was a church like feeling, that i`d been blessed.
LOVE YOU.
Etched in my heart, mind and soul `til i see you again
from time to time it`s hard to refrain
a little tear when i think of you
and all the things we used to do.
Your kindness and personality does live on
even so,Shirl you have gone
you have a daughter that has everything you had
your looks and manorisms, makes me so glad.
It`s a pleasent reminder that when you were here
such a comfort, that makes me feel near
to you whenever i do feel down
it lifts up my mood my spirits and frown
R.I.P. Shirley Asprey x ( My sister )
We are a family conisisting of six,Billy,Shirl,Karen,Lynne,Myself and Trace
i would say that Lynne stands out,so proud you have done well with
no hairs or grace,
your warm personality, kindness caring are just a few of your charms
you will go to any lengths to see see people come to no harm
Your advice is accurate and reassuringly strong
and if taken onboard you will see where is the wrong
i can see you are doting nanny of Erin and Owen
and the love u create can blatantly see it flowing
well my sis , i will wind down your little rhyme
although i know i could stretch it,for many a line
and keep words flying, like a turtle dove
so i will wrap this up for you and send it off with love
