Before a misty morning mirror
above a half-filled basin
such cold water was I braving
simply to lave my face in
but the coldest cut of all
and it only hurts when I smile
I severely slit myself while
I was busy shaving
but did my frozen fingers fumble
or was it just a rusty razor
which sorely needs replacement
that figured in my defacement
as there were many a slip
'twixt blade and lip

They stood like rhymes
on fencepost spines
with wisdom scrawled
in shaving thymes—
a roadside gospel,
terse and sweet
that preached with
meter, grit, and heat.
Rosemary likes
a clean-shaved man,
if wooing her
is in your plan.
She’ll linger near
and take your hand
and proudly wear
your golden band.
Parsley hides
beside the plate—
the garnish mocked
by those who ate.
But lean in close—
she knows the names
of all who passed
and played their games.
Sage recalls
those roadside lines—
poetry caught
between the pines.
Sometimes sly
and sometimes wise,
a fleeting truth
before my eyes.
They’re all gone now
fenceposts bare—
but I still see
those rhymes out there.
Burma-Shave.

"While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house: [19] And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. [20] Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, [21] And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD."
~Job 1:18-21 KJV
hands clutch hair and pull to mask the sorrows,
to feel the pain, the hurt, one understands
knowing they are gone in all tomorrows
death is far, yea, far from these mortal hands
And so, to show how wide the sorrow spans
rip, or cut, yea, shave what sets us apart
symbolic of a bruised and broken heart
golden locks or black, once all cut away
identity lost, the same now we art
symbol of grief connects past with today.

A man, half a mountain of hair,
Gave Cupid a bit of a scare.
He wasn't a knave,
He just didn't shave,
A heart that was rare did he share.

I'm looking forward to have my shave,
It's not the thought of being brave,
I just feel the urge to do some good,
And hopefully help to lift my mood,
Macmillan helped through times of need,
My stories there for all to read,
They understand they help you cope,
With your life that's hit a slope ,
Macmillan nurses stay with you through the toughest times that's true,
But a charity comes with cost,
Without donations it will be lost.

I once sported a manly beard,
a beastly beard had I.
But then on the farm, at the crack of dawn,
while my lady cheered,
she chopped it off, and while the cows mockingly mooed,
I quietly cried.
And with that, a little something inside of me died.
I would venture to guess it was my manly pride.
She brushed and whispered into my tickled ear
"Brian, how I pined for your lovely face,
and your youthful countenance.
You don't need a mane to rival a lion in ferocity
-you're sensitive and wise,
I can see it in your eyes,
and your words they always seem to make sense."
Who was I to debate with her?
Her words would lose weight
if I failed to concur.

Breaking points are reached
when you are gliding
just is as smooth as silk.
Acceptable risks go rogue,
easy-street gets bumpy;
beware then
for there are gopher holes,
shoals of piranha appear
in rain puddles,
then sleeping moles awaken in your head
and they don't like smooth.

Should a Sheik seek a shave
Who'd shave a Sheik,
Sheik shavers should surely
So Sheik shavers Sheiks seek.

Sand slipped away through an hour glass timer
Oblivious to a bottle neck of irrevocable pain
Next to a tube of toothpaste and a cake of soap
It rested under a broken mirror in the washroom
Not far from 4 ply loo role waiting for meaning
Tim needed a brave shave and brazen reflection
Reached for the cabinet holding razor and brush
Decay had become a bit too long in the tooth but
His silver tinged stubble was tangled and weary of
Hiding wrinkles and forced smiles on his cheek
Can’t turn the clock back however much I might try
His gaze fell upon fine comb and elegant scissors
Sharp and bright eyed he glanced at ambivalent shears
Growth and change resides on the inside he pondered
Tim tied beads to his beard instead and let his hair down

From his sweetie Dave took lots of guff
'Cause his beard was mighty ruff
Too bad you get fewer kisses, Dave
Try Burma Shave - its all the rave!
Do you sprout a very wild stubble?
Have you heard of the latest rave?
You'd save yerself a ton of trouble
Taming yer mug with Burma Shave!
We feel very sorry for poor Walter
His bride left him standing at the altar!
His whiskers scratched her lovely face
Should-a used Burma Shave to save face!
Is that 5 o'clock shadow giving you stress?
And are the ladies noticing you less?
Then, on yer mug you should slather
A creamy coat of Burma Shave lather!
While they were dancing cheek to cheek
Said she, "Go paddle up the creek!
You scratched my face, you hairy knave!
Next time treat yer mug with Burma Shave!"

I know I shaved the hair off this week
The razor was a solid brand
I felt my legs afterwards,
They were smooth as baby
Yet today I saw
My legs are dark
Curly hair
Grew all
Back
So maybe it was a week or two
Could possibly might have been
I shaved them hard on my knee
Hair floated down the drain
Grooming is no fun
The hair grows back
Hard and fast

Why do you have to order the blade
Am using it to shave
Why do you want to shave
I shave because we shave
I shave because they shave
I shave because am too shave
I shave so the underneath can be smooth
During the meeting of two body's forming a soundtrack
Lying, and pushing slowly on them self.

Close Shave With Wave In Cave
Were cautiously surfing in a cave,
When there had been a big wave;
While inside,
We could hide;
With sides of wall had close shave.
