I found a home in your poetry
for my sporadic melancholy
It was your music that set my heartbeat
on other occasions, it wept
like the celestial scream of seraphim
you tried to prove it to me after that
demonic insanity
strives over what we all share
that there is gloom and sorrow
as well as tomorrow.

Seraphim a sacred angel a heavenly being, She appeared before me in a vision with her radiant smile and golden wings consoling me in my distresses holding my hand assuring me that everything will be okay not to fear or worry with her glowing smile unquestionably seraphim is the most high’s helper.

Spirits of the living mingle with the dead
Nightly, joining hands to march through Selma
Dr. King, their leader, the first called home
Returns to preach peace through understanding
On streets where emotions refuse to rest
Brother John’s soul, the last to depart
Forever linked to this spectral caravan
Listen and you’ll hear their songs and prayers
Rising in unison from steamy streets
Hopeful voices, Seraphim of Selma

i choose to see truth
the unfolding beauty of
a seraphim sky
with two wings covering face
with two wings covering feet
with two wings hovering by
God seated on throne
the fiery purity of
a seraphim sky
true blue, celestial lift
flutter of hallelujah
bright burning of love for God

Tired cold tar stained fingers,
cigarette of mostly ash,
the fog of ancient thoughts hang,
Eyes closed dreamless void.
The radio hum of white noise,
whispers like seraphim,
tapped ashes and empty prayers.
Dissolving to heaven.
"Awaken you tired servant,
can you spare a light for me?"
Eyes closed to flickering flames,
speaking to nothing.

Walking into His Seraphim fire,
It burned out everything that made me a liar...
Living a life that wasn't to be mine because
The devil tried to steal my true self; tried to steal it away.
But the Lord wants to make me His bride and He called
Into my soul that it was time to go... time to change my life
And that my new change of mind would help me come out
On the other side... help me come into the light to expose
My dark past and become so new and born again; He was
Washing away all my worldly stains of sin and death.
He was kneeling down by the Holy sea just outside the
Castle in New Jerusalem. There was fire all around Him
Reaching as high as the tallest of trees.
He was on His knees ... He looked up at me.
Finally standing up He came over to me and asked me to
Believe... to come walk with Him here by the sea...
And if we had to walk mile per mile on this new Journey,
He said the He would never leave me for I am His bride..
Change on the inside.
I knew nothing was going to ever stay the same;
Not playing that worldly game.

little girl who rose up
above poverty
above ignorance
above forced marriage...
little girl who rose up
little girl who grew up
grew up far too fast
grew up tough as nails
who became a woman
who became my seraphim
my seraphim who looked down
my seraphim who descended
my seraphim who took pity
and married me…

PRAYER OF THE BETTER HALF
(Faithful Seraphim)
When seraphs tend their ears
To prayers faithfully borne,
Oh my lips, unlock thy seal
And water the air with
The scent of my plea.
By morning and by night,
My entreaties I pour
In your sacred pouch,
To thee holy one,
That when thy sanctified wings
Flapped Upward, towards
The god’s listening ear
And thy whisper undefiled
By weighty flesh,
May they bear my tears
To the lord for redress.
For long I have tilled on cupid’s field
And my sheaves thinned from winnowing –
A lean heap only could fill,
Poorer in gaze than the years.
Yet if only I find you,
I shall count it all sane
And the gone by days
Not betterly spent.
And as the night sky
Calls forth the light of the stars,
To bless the glow of the moon,
I implore thee faithful seraphim,
Bear my bones to me.

little girl who rose up
above her poverty
above her circumstance
their forced marriage
their ignorance...
little girl who grew up
little girl who had to grow up
too fast, far too fast...
who learned the ropes too fast
who learned rough, tough, gentle
who became a woman
who became a seraphim...
a seraphim who looked down
a seraphim who descended
descended from the heavens
far beyond the speed of light
just in time...
just in time to save an old fool
just in time to marry me...
*Happy Birthday Vicki! Miss you...

Heavenly being hovering near
Appear near this fading life
Hold me dear and secure on this long
Distance trip, powered by Light
Cross over gently, hold tight

Bygone was a time I looked so apathetic, I saw that you had no face.
Reckoning for my past trespass comes now in listless waves.
You are the highest of the high and I could surmise why
your seraph face now haunts me.
To this day, fleeting eyes avert from your golden throne.
Yet, your hexadic power over me I have cemented on my own.
Only fervent stolen glances bestow your holy, holy, holy glow
as your seraph face now haunts me.
Worshipping constantly what could have been I,
Could you not atone my sins with ease by your siren cry?
Facing toward your mecca, perfectly obedient, ardent, and devout
as your seraph face now haunts me.
Feathers rib out in a sunburst of ivory afore I did not see.
I sleep to dream, yet even there seraphim will not let me be.
Apathetic no longer, sainted cherub, I curse my past stoicism
as your seraph face now haunts me.
