I sit and watch you everyday
From a bookshelf where I will stay
Not quite like new, patched with a swatch
You everyday, I sit and watch
You used to hold me so much more
When I was softer, not yet tore
I'll wait right here for you to see
So much more, you used to hold me
Once a loved one, now a keepsake
Loyal love does a true friend make
I hope no more yarns come unspun
Now a keepsake, once a loved one
I'm always here to watch you grow
If you need me, in high or low
Don't forget me, I'm always near
To watch you grow, im always here

they spoke it as shame and
talked about
what the Lady had said
when they told the story
of Spazinchon my Missus'
cheeks turned red.
I found it shameful to repeat it
since I can't say how
it begun.
Love inspires those who
seek it.
The right kind of love will make
you feel dumb.
Ya'll know the story of Miss Trickus
the quilting blanket making Madam.
she stitched together a classic
she used satin p$nties to make flowers
and sewed them in the quilt
she she shamefully kept it secret
until her husband would reveal
His Saloon night at Nuevo Krucuss
a postentail customer worked a deal
he needed ten quilts for his business
he like the one's his ole lady
made for real.
The gentle men laughed and told me
he had a secret.
the Inn keeper would often sell
the left over garments lefted behind
by strangers
we'd stitch all up and sell
well a band of traveling gypsies
came to town one summers month
they had rags ,scraffs and under garments
they left behind the a whole bunch
we stitched the satin thangs in the quilts
not knowing if they would sell
but the stories behind the materail
went to have an interesting show and tell

Once when I went to the store
Saw an old cat named Kitty Galore.
She sang and she pranced
And tried hard to dance,
But still remained just an eyesore.

Larry and his Sheep Dog Scruffy
Are together always on the road
Larry has knowledge of gardening
So he is well known by all
Larry has a huge van
So he packs what tools he needs
Even brings his lawn chair
As well his dog Scruffy and beer
He works from house to house
His dog Scruffy keeps him company
When the gardening is done
Larry and Scruffy play ball
When Larry's job is done
They play ball together
They are company for each other
Larry my gardener sits on my deck
He is a gnome sits in a lawn chair
His hat is red pointy on top
His beard is long and white
Green jacket,blue pants
the boots he wears is black
Scruffy is a two tone color
Lit grey and white in color
With a bright pink tongue
Scruffy is my statue dog

Raspberry tea and cheese scones for me
Grape Gatorade and chuck bones for he
Galoshes, wool coat plus scarf and muffs
Flannel vest, crafted jeans, rolled up cuffs
A winter’s walk and a time to talk we go
Lots of fluffy snow and rivers don’t flow
Frosty air stings, chills and shivers it brings
Footprints left behind, two and four a kind
Today is not a picnic nor is tomorrow’s report
Would be better lounging at a Key Largo resort
Nevertheless we are palsy wellsy, best of friends
Walking the neighborhood, dressed in odds and ends

Our dog named Scruffy likes to sleep by the fireplace, curled up in a ball.
He likes to cuddle in between us for attention, to be petted, and spoken to.
His favourite treat is Beggin' Strips". It's the only thing he will eat.
At bedtime Scruffy sleeps in the middle, so no one is left out,in our big bed.
In the morning he greets us with a bark and a tail wag.
He likes to play fetch every chance he gets and he is friendly with people
especially children.
As I stretch from a deep relaxing sleep I realized that it was all a dream.
Perhaps one day it will come true.
Yes I do have a dog named Scruffy, but he is only a stationary dog
He sits in my bedroom on the floor.
At times he feels real to me.
No we don't know when we will get a dog, but one day we will.
it will not be a "Scruffy".
Instead it will be a Border Terrier and that's alright with me!

Scruffy the Bantam

Grey Mare Lane Markets, was a place I used to like
I used to go there Saturdays, riding on my bike
Down Mount Road, then Hyde Road, then down Pottery Lane
Told my Mam a snake I’d buy, she’d say “then don’t come home again”
I ended up with day old chicks, a couple for 5 bob
I used to think they’d give me eggs, and I’d be like Old Lob
but they would not even last the day,
before the poor things passed away
so next week I will buy some more,
telling Mam I’d “buy a snake” as I ran out the door.
One day I got a fighter, who made it through the day,
a real bantam rooster, who decided he would stay,
he lived just down the garden, in my dad’s little shed
I always called him Scruffy, ‘cause of the black mark on his head
He was afraid of nothing, not dogs or cats or me,
and I always threatened him, one day you’ll be my tea,
then he was gone, I don’t know where, I guess I never will
I like to think he chased a cat, and is trying to catch it still
